Paint it black entered the Dutch charts 28th Mai 1966 ,stayed there for 13 weeks and got to nr1.Source Hitdossier 1958/1987
Oh thanks! That makes sense. I really find it strange that it wasn't relaesed or a hit then as it was all over the world. So it topped the Dutch Charts twice. That's great. Still, the success of its "second coming" in Holland is wondering me. Something just "clicked" there I guess (the hype for URBAN JUNGLE tour?)

No, at that time the Tour of Duty tv show was on in the Netherlands, with the Paint it, Black intro. Saw a bloke at the Urban Jungle tour in Rotterdam wearing a Tour of Duty shirt, he got a nice long 'loser' from the crowd...
So Paint it, Black made it twice to no. 1 in the Netherlands with the same version by the same artits. Unique, never done before or after!

And here's the albums list.....and incredibly I could not find a country where Beggars Banquet hit top spot. A magnificent body of work such as that should get the next plug post Exile. Pity it won't due to good ole f'n A Klein. And I know I shouldn't have included Exile twice but I thought what the hell.
