Wasn't he the one who received some charity plaque that was later discovered in the trash can at the same venue?

No, but if his first solo album (the one Hendrix and Clapton played on) ever gets the "deluxe treatment", I am there.

I thought he was from Florida.
I think he's got dentures now...he's always had bad teeth (one of the reasons he failed the audition to be a Monkee!)
One thing that pissed off Mr Stills back in the day was when he loaned his stage lighting gear for the Concert for Bangla Desh, and then was not invited to play at the show.

That would be Kris Kristofferson.

i saw a 2 cd set that has all three of those albums for about $25, still not worth it? also illegal stills is the only one of those 3 still in print by itself and is about $7 brand new.
anyways i own, stephens tills, stills 2, both mannassas albums, just roll tape and man alive. been meaning to look into his 70's live album as i heard a lot of good things about. the one where half is acustic and half electric and he's wearing a jersey on the cover

The live album is pretty bad. But I understand Rhino is working on a massive reissue program (Just Roll Tape was just the beginning) of all his solo stuff, including a box set. All his worthwhile solo tracks, including any decent live stuff, will probably find their way onto the box set.

Why has Stills got so much unreleased material?
Did no record company want to take him on? Or wan't it good enough?

the main thing about the monkees is he was expected to sign over the rights of all songs that were written while he was in the monkees. of course he was never going to agree to that
Stills has said that what he really wanted to do was write songs for the show.
His early song Sit Down, I Think I Love You does (or did) have a Colgems copyright(Colgems being the record label set up for the Monkees). IF you think about it,
that almost sounds like a Monkess tune and would have fitted fine on one of thier records. In fact, Stills was a slim possibility to produce the bands Headquarters album after Don Kirshner had been purged. Peter Tork suggested him.
However, Nesmith had already "chosen" Chip Douglas.

I was not sure if he's had cancer that would explain it. He is underated. Suite: Judy Blue Eyes is a masterpiece. I love the version they did for MTV unplugged great stuff!
Sit Down I Think I Love You is a classic. Those 60's pop songs seemed to always have a magical feel to them maybe because it was all new at the time.
