I have 2 and it really is a tie; WILD HORSES and LET IT LOOSE. I realize that they didn't have to be Stones songs but they just ARE!

As the case with everyone else, this list can change based on mood. In other words , a better question would be "What songs impacted you the most?" (The why question is already answered - Women)

Well....

Rolling Stones Out of Time (Flowers)
Rolling Stones Rocks Off
Beach Boys Don't Worry Baby
Four Tops I've got a feeling (Shake me Wake me)

first place: moon river (mercer/mancini) - beautiful song, beautiful lyrics

runner-up: you belong to me (king/stewart/price) - for the same reasons....

Great choices. Sinatra's version of 'Moon River' especially.

Try the Jerry Butler version:

Saw him do it live last year....tremendous.

It changes almost daily, but at the moment it's 'Just Tell Her Jim Said Hello' by Elvis Presley.

I like a variety of music. It is a tough question, but I would say Gimme Shelter. I'm not sure why... It just speaks to me.

my choice : summer in the city by loving spoonful

Great choice...a few months ago I saw John Sebastian and David Grisman do an excellent show, consisting mostly of songs from their new "Satisfied" album.

They also found time to do some Spoonful classics. Before the second encore John said, "There are some songs that just shouldn't be played on acoustic instruments!"

And then they jumped in to "Summer In the City."

It sounded just fine.

I don't have one.

I have had an "all time favorite rock and roll song", several of them, but over the past 45 years that has changed so my favorite can't include just one song. Does that make any cents? How about Dollars?

I can not possibly pick one song

took me awhile on this one, because as Slew has said, it's not possible, I start to
type one in and I can't finish cause another song has pushed its way in.
so my cop out answer is Gimme Shelter,JJF, and SFTD, all in the time it took me to type this.

Re: what is your all time favourite song ?

Back in 2006 I listened to a song every day with the intent of narrowing the songs down to my Top 10 favorites. JJF was the highest Stone song at Number 3. Number 1 was the International Velvet Theme Song by Francis Lai. Holidsay in the Sun by the Sex Pistols was in there somewhere too. An eclectic mix for sure.
