Interesting!
Ron would seem like the obvious one but more interesting would be to know why the other two were against it...

Jagger for sure was against it. Too expensive for the circus to travel plus he was sick and tired for dealing with Tramboline Twins... Especially Ronnie's habits seemed to piss Jagger off (but because Ronnie was teamed tightly with Keith, he was out of Mick's reach) And of course, Keith did anything to piss Mick off... As a result, there were strict 'drug rules' in that tour...

But thanks to three to two votes we got the last great rock and roll tour by "The Greatest Rock and Roll Band of The World"! Seemingly, those tensions inside the band usually are resulted by great music!

If they hadn't toured in 82 that would mean no Stones in Europe between 1976 and 1990! That's a hellova time!

That's a good story. Drug rules? What was Mickette thinking? Keith does just what he likes.

Prince Rupert,´cause he thought there was no money in it.
That´s what I remeber having read, probably one of the tales...
Fortunately they made another decision (promote Still Life,Rocks Off movie ?)
so I could go to my first Stones show.

I think the drug rules were specificly for Ronnie. He was doing free base a lot and that's no good for anyone.

I have a feeling Charlie has said no to a tour since 1965.

LOL, me too. Makes you wonder why in the end he always says yes. He stated in a couple of interviews that a good or maybe the reason he does it is for the money. But on the other hand i think that especially after '90 money wouldn't be a issue anymore, look at Bill.

I read somewhere that this was about the time Charlie started his dance with Heroin...before anyone jumps my comment I distictly remember Charlie himself being quoted refering to his Heroin abuse in the 80's.

I suspect if true, this woould cause Charlie to say no in '82.

the shoot 'em dead, brainbell jangler!
