Hickory Wind also done by Mick

On the Being Mick DVD 2001 you can see Mick singing Hickory Wind at the piano in Lenny Kravitz house. Shows how influential GP is and was in Stones countrysongs. He still get's back to it after all these years.

Beautiful version but unfortunately shortened.

Maybe it's the only song (beside Faraway Eyes) he can play on the piano ;-)

yep love this on the video...pity it's shortened...it sort of makes you think that Gram P did leave an impression on Mick..

I think Gram had a lasting effect on the whole band - they did not do much country before Gram.

Gram was a tortured genious(even though lots of people here have made it clear they think he was a hack!)

James Burton and Keith Richards on one stage......absolute heaven for me. The 2 most important forces in guitar growing up.

Very true indeed!

Sweetheart of the Rodeo
The Gilded Palace of Sin
Burrito Deluxe
G.P.
Grievous Angel

Totally beautiful music by someone who was far from a "Hack"
