Gonna see AC/DC next summer in Paris and I wonder how loud AC/DC is playing. Are they playing louder than the Stones ?? Will I need earplugs to protect me ?

Much louder than the Stones. It took me 2 days to recover from the last AC/DC show (earlier this month). I don't use earplugs because to me it adversely affect the overall sound quality.

Uncomfortably loud. They should drop from 140dB to 120dB. Quality earplugs might be wise.

i agree. my ears rang for 2 days after seeing them in chicago. i brought earplugs to the 2nd show.

a nice touch: at the stones show at the arrowhead pond in anaheim in 1999, they gave out earplugs in a cute black plastic container with inscription commemorating the show.

I would certainly hope they play loud - both of them. The Steel Wheels show I saw was incredible - it was loud but so clear. The Voodoo shows I saw were not as loud as I'd hoped - nor as clear either.

There is a difference between loud and stupid loud.

One of their techs let me in to watch them soundcheck (which is rare for them to soundcheck) on the Stiff Upper Lip tour. If you think a show is loud, try hearing it in an empty arena. They were doing songs from Stiff Upper Lip that never got performed live.

Not announced yet. The Answer, the band that is warming up for them over the US tour, was also confirmed for the European arena tour but still nothing abour the Open Air tour.

I hate going to an arena show and getting annoyed because I can hear conversations from 10 feet away over the music.

It's rock...not a jazz show.

And there are good earplugs the just drop you a few decibles without muffling the overall range too much. Sometimes good try try for the start of a show, until your ears get used to it.

Earplugs are for girls.
I went to both san antonio and houston concerts and i was absolutely deaf after both of em.
That was fking loud!!! loved it!!
Don't bring earplugs to the concert , you'll go nuts with acdc playing live in front of you , shake your head like a crazy bastard and let there be rock!!!

The difference is that my show will be part of the Open Air Tour not of the Arena Tour.

I haven't seen them since the 70's but it shook the foundation at that time.

Outdoor shows will be even quieter

i sat front row center at the forum in la recently--i'd take out the earplugs to see how the sound was in reality and it was like a freaking freight train exploding through my skull--brutal--wonderfully brutal
