Wasn't there also a "bigger bang" show in which the nearby
horses had to be drugged or moved so that they didn't freak out (noise)??

That was the Kentucky Derby
Sorry, no pictures

oh...I thought there was a similar situation on the European tour.

Is the Kentucky Derby track out in the boonies?
I've been through Kentucky but never specifically attended a race.

How about their first show in the States....the San Antonio, Texas, State Fair, Joe Freeman Coliseum, 'San Antonio Teen Fair’...that must have been surreal...for the audience and the band!

the shoot 'em dead, brainbell jangler!

it WAS in europe - Belgrade. It was supposed to be at a racetrack but with complaints (which hopefully reached Charlie's ears), it was moved to a park. GREAT f'ing show - incredible energy.

I was at the Churchill Downs show too (KY Derby place) - terrible venue (about the equivalent of 50 rows between the stage and front row - the only decent seats in the house were on stage) but not a rural setting. It was near a university and not too far from downtown Louisville.

I was at Rolling Stones' 1994 concert near Zeltweg (guess it's the region of Styria), in the austrian alps. A very poetical and bucolic landscape, a wonderful atmosphere. It was summer and the night before we simply slept on the grass. The mornig after I woke up and a cow was licking my face, lovely...

Landgraaf in the Netherlands. Walking from the train platform through the town (village really), I couldn't believe I was headed to a venue where the Stones would be playing.
