Mamma Mia! I happen to be right at the moment in Positano. The pittoresque Amalfi Coast town in where Mick and Keith wrote this dark masterpiece. Odd to think them, Mick with harmonica and Keith with guitar, going through the song piece by piece in some of these cafes... The contrast is so huge! Anyway, if this town is pittoresque, it is damn touristique as well. Sutely it was different back t

Quote5strings Where Can i find the best and clean version of Slave long version 12'' Thanks I find this one Funnily, listening Jagger, this sounds like made for EMOTIONAL RESCUE. You know, that loose, half-drunken delivery typical to many tracks there. For TATTOO YOU he sharpened up, probably cut the booze, and discovered a new, more focused way of singing. But damn that ba

Hmm... Treacle and R-Dog (doesn't that sound like a rap artist), you have a way lighter way to give stars than I do (of course, the context matters), but your thought experiments are interesting. I don't quite accept the 5/5 stars outcome, but I think what is important to notice is that the greatness, at least the potentiality of it, has been always there, no matter how much certain per

Thanks, Dan! Cool to see that most likely a brandnew cut makes the encore spot. If memory serves it has been ages when a new song is played close to the climax of the show. "Start Me Up" back in 1981/82? Historians, prove me wrong... - Doxa

QuoteDoxa And that said... The idea of starting the show with "Gimme Shelter" I am afraid might make "Scarf Me Up" innocent business... The intro is not easiest for Keith's fingers these days, no matter how economically he tends to deliver it. In the flow of the concert it works, but that of Keith on his own starting the whole show with it, while everybody in the house st

QuoteRisingStone Apart from the HD songs, all familiar selections. Too early to whine about the setlist, I know, but it doesn’t look that promising. Predictably so, in a way. Sorry to be a buzz killer. What this list lacks is a deep cut or obscure song from the past, another Out Of Time. I almost mistook WILD HORSES as WARHORSES lol. ' Maybe that's the cost of playing new songs -

Thank you, wickerman! Wonderful that they see potential in HACKNEY DIAMONDS tracks. Hopely many of them at least see the spotlight. The pragmatic test has no mercy and usually it is a killing floor for new material. - Doxa

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteStonesfan2146 I was just thinking Gimme Shelter + intro means the show intro. But now that I'm reading the comments over there it might indeed just be the song intro :/ It was just Keith @#$%& up the GS-intro on rehearsals, like always. Nothing new there Haha.. the most natural explanation and the one immediately occured to me as well... - Doxa

Quotegeorgelicks It looks like there will be another deluxe re-edition this year, the album is not known yet but Mick has been working on several outtakes in the past months. 40x5 has been handling the same information for weeks and already published it on their Instagram account several weeks ago. We can only wait for more information. Really interesting news if this turns out to be true

Good point, Dandie. Probably being analytical might give the impression of being objective, but it really means that one is good with words, that is, being good in expressing one views by taking a lot of things into consideration. But subjective, all the same. It might be in best case convincing, but not objectively true. But what goes for the review discussed here, no, I didn't bother to
