QuoteMadMetaphoricalMax It's not particularly well written, it's too obtuse and that is revealed from the writer's opening salvo against Brown Sugar - 'despite its clumsy lyrics and blatant fetishization of Black women'- when in fact the lyrics are not in the least clumsy, and the 'fetishization' is not simply of 'black women' but of sex, smack, sado m

Oasis They owe much more to The Stones than the Beatles. Primal Scream too, even though I enjoy their experimental stuff (like Vanishing Point, Evil Heat, Xtrmnr) more than the Jimmy Miller stuff and their sus-riff songs.

QuoteRockman For a good gut laugh check da Dust Bros Babylon stories in the bonus section of Disc-5 of the Just For The Record DVD set ..... Great insight into the recording of Bridges ..... The Dust Bros give esp HIGH praise to Mick but have a battle remembering bass players and neighbours...hhhhhaaa and say that although there was a Mick & Keith camp everybody got along fine but do a

I love them, my favourite song is Look Out Cleveland, I had it in my head all the way when I flew out from Cleveland having seen Oasis, to Houston to go through to LA to record a demo with my cousin in september 2005. I gotta get this live recording, mixed by Clearmountain! Must be great!

Quoterbk Likely some tax dodge Jagger had planned. What DIDN'T happen in 1975 was the South American dates that were supposed to follow the US run. Supposedly security and currency fluctuations were the reasoning but rumors at the time had it that the four dates were added to generate the necessary cash to cover the budget of Fordyce, AK for the next two decades. Again rumors at the time

Victor Hugo instead of Too Rude and it's a 10 outta 10 for me. I've never understood the slagging off of this album, it ain't Exile but it's an angry little gem.

QuoteHairball QuoteNilsHolgersson I wonder if there's gonna be a No Filter concert film released professionally I've been sort of hoping for that, but seems the postponement/pandemic might have sidelined all of that, at least for the time being. They might have been waiting for the 2020 leg to finish before going forward on it, but as we now know everything's unfortunately been a

Quotebakersfield Copacobana underrated? (You mean overrated?) It was a much better show than Zilker Park or Havana. you can see right from the start that the size of the event has got Jagger fully engaged. That's a terrific JJF and Rambler is marvellous too. Well the band's great in Rio but the setlist is boring (with the exception of Rain Fall Down). The first 12 songs in Austi

I love the version of Sad Sad Sad! Such a great Stones song. I agree Al, the sound is great! They should mix it up with that one, Highwire, I Go Wild, Sparks Will Fly, One More Shot (maybe, no Mick open-G on it obviously), Some Girls and Don't Stop in that 4th song position. Then they could bring Dice to its best spot as the song (usually 10th) before Keith's section. 1. Opener

Great news - glad to see Bob continuously releasing gems from the vaults...it's like the never ending bootleg series. Some of it's great, and some maybe not so great, but it's always lurking wait

Interesting points YITM! I am reading Paolo Hewitt's book "Forever The People" about Oasis' Be Here Now tour 97-98 and it's really interesting to see how the tour life affects a band consisting of people who are married and/or have families. The everday drinking and the peruvian marching powder and on top of that cigarettes and mayhem. In 72 and 73 I guess they were no

QuoteDoxa "Fiji Jim". Probably one of the biggest of those 'Stones-by-numbers' of the lot, and I do very well understand that they didn't want top release at the time. But shit, if Bobby Dylan can make millions songs out of the basic blues scale scheme, and everybody's cheearing and saying how brillant those are, well, hearing the Stones do just one - well... Wh

Quotepeoplewitheyes Forgive my ignorance, but why do some want to spend a lot of money on 'factory pressed' CDs, when they can just burn their own CD at home, or just connect their computer up with their sound system? It's all about the cover, the booklet and the smell mate, the wonderful smell. Won't get that from a simple cd-r. The physical product is a must, I really hope
