Quotemidnrambler I got my discs replaced with new pressed ones. The original discs allegedly have small skips, but I didn't notice them at all (except one audible is in Honky Tonk Women). Yes- me too. I bought 2 copies (1 was for a friend) & both actually got stuck, at the beginning of 'Bitch' & had other skips throughout both discs (though disc 1 was worse). BUT- my who

Hi Vancouver :-), Do you mean the French radio broadcast source, that's on the 2nd half of DAC's version of Altamont?. If that's the case- I have it & can email it to you in mp3 (320kbps) format. Unfortunately- I don't have a clue how to upload things here (or anywhere! LOL). Please feel free to email me, at rp_gregor&#

Hi there, I don't want you to think I'm trying to sabotage your efforts to sell these, but ALL 'Cellar Dwellar' & 'Alternative Edge Productions' releases, are actually factory-printed, silver cdrs. It's easy not to realise, as they're nicely done- I'm not questioning your honesty :-)

Quotetimbernardis So, the collectors dont necessarily go with who gives the best quality but other factors that have more to do with marketing than anything else? p Well- some nutty collectors actually collect BOTH!LOL & end-up buying European boots, which contain material they already have- just on the strength of their very nice packaging :-). I know it's nuts, but- I've

Wow!- that's alot of questions! :-). Re: Japanese boot pressings v/s European, I can only give you my opinion (though I am a big collector of pressed, silver boots). In many cases some European boot labels release titles that are far superior, in terms of both packaging & mastering imo. I'm referring to labels such as 'Rattlesnake' (who use their own excellent sources &am

Hi :-) I've played the guitar since I was 8 years old (I'm now 42) & I originally learnt to play on an acoustic (my brother's, that I'd sneakily strum on, when he was out!:-)). Personally, I still think it's the best way to learn, as you develop more strength in your fingers- before graduating to the electric guitar. I acquired my first (cheap) electric guitar in

I found this thread by doing a search for the 'Lost Millard Tapes'. It was the only thing that showed up, but I've got to say: Thanks to all involved here (well one person in particular), for giving me such a great laugh this morning!. There's always one isn't there?.><

Quotescottkeef I have copies of "Live At Leeds" and "Closer Than Close" right after they were released and they are on MITSUI GOLD cdrs-is that good too?? The gold ones are the ABSOLUTE BEST!. They were developed for archiving US Government data & apparrently have an estimated lifespan of 300 years (!). I won't be around in another 100, but- I'll ask one of my

Yes, Sister Morphine use the ABSOLUTE BEST (& personally- I think many of their releases are superb). But, they use MAM thermal-printable discs- which isn't the kind of printer you'd have in your 'average home' :-)

Hi All, AT LAST!- a subject I can make a (hopefully) constructive contribution to :-). I primarily collect factory-pressed boots & one of the factors involved, is that cdrs are prone to disintegration over the years (sometimes only a few- even when they're carefully looked after). Of course,it's impossible to find certain originals now- so, cdrs are the only option. They're

Hello again Macman 15 :-), I doubt anyone's going to be posting/reading much today (being Xmas day)- except sad specimens like me! LOL. BUT- I can possibly help you out here, though I don't know where you are (ie: US or Europe): Firstly: The gold, archiving Kodak discs ARE still available, in spindles of 25- as I order them quite frequently, from a good UK retailer. Hi, I'm sure somebody will have helped you out by now :-). But, if not- the Japanese seller, who I've bought all my (Japanese) silver boots from for approx: 7 years, still has this SODD release on his list & is SUPER-RELIABLE. There's some good points here & some that are 'ill-informed', to say the least. Regarding what the big Jap' labels have been putting-out over the last few years: yes- some are taken from torrents, especially any 'Bigger Bang' shows. But- that's forgivable (if you're into collecting factory-pressed boots), as many of those performances were so dire- the
