What’s going on? This arrived yesterday courtesy of Intense Records The music is for the most part great, quite naturally so But the sound quality? Not so much Compared to the version RnB Records put out Love In Vain sounds speeded up and Browned Off finishes early And the sound itself is no better than the vinyl version RnB Records put out. They carefully remastered but were star

Thanks for the suggestions - looks like it will be the RSD re-release for me. I bought that record for £10 (a fortune then) from a second-hand record shop in Stockholm in 1981 whilst I was living there - it may be my all time favourite A side/B side combo

Just went to play my copy of Chris Bell’s I Am The Cosmos (original Car 7” from 1978) only to discover to my horror it has cracked! Crack runs from edge of vinyl to centre label making record unplayable. I am devastated as I bought it in 1981. Record has always been carefully stored upright and has avoided direct sunlight, humidity etc Has anyone else ever heard of such a thing? This is

Songs For Slim is not a new release but it is a worthy one Both Slim’s solo LPs were rereleased for RSD They have such a great relaxed rocking vibe to them with cool songs and some very Stones-like arrangements I play them even more than I play Talk Is Cheap

My first show (Earls Court 1976) was also my worst - sound was so bad. Luckily Knebworth made up for it I didn't much care for Micks neurotic athleticism in '89 and '91 - left him too out of breath to sing properly So I'll go for 2003. On the way home from Twickenham (nosebleeds) we called into my office and booked two fabulous seats right down the front at Wembley Arena

this is great news. Bob Mehr told me it was the most exciting of the Mats re-release projects he has done, and I thought PTMM and Dead Man's Pop were pretty cool. Interesting to see just how much Tommy Ramones rather limp production has been toughened up In other Mats news - two soundboard live CDs - Tom Petty Tour 89 and NY Ritz 87 -both on eBay for £0.99 - look for my account organic53

I just read that the cover design of Ya Yas is based on Dylan's lyrics from 'Visions of Johanna' Specifically "Oh, jewels and binoculars hang from the head of the mule" You probably already knew that but I never did

1993 Velvet Underground reunion in Paris by coach from London. Imagine a coach full of hardcore Velvet Underground fans and that is exactly what you got. We stayed in a really nice chateau outside Paris. The band filmed the tour video at these gigs which were 75% excellent (Lou's singing being the missing 25%).
