Quotebv The 1998 tour ended September 19 in Istanbul. On that tour they played Hague, Bremen, Berlin etc in September. During October 2006 they played outdoor in Regina Canada and Chicago USA in freezing cold temperatures. Not ideal but possible. No problem to start a tour in September as long as you know what you are doing. Excactly, the last years in Germany it was very warm in Septem

QuoteHappy24 Anybody can give some details about the possible Austrian venue - Spielberg? As I understand it, it is a racing track near a small town in the south of Austria. How will the 100 000 people get there and what about an accomodation? I was counting on the Austrian date, but so far it seems like a no-go to me - 7 hours to get there and having no place to sleep seems like too much troubl

Quotebv Also with the recent experiences from Las Vegas and Melbourne (Hanging Rock), and the large investments in each show this summer, crowds of 100,000 and 5 million Euro plus each, I would not be surprised if they add even more space than in the past between the shows. Just to make sure that Mick is getting enough time to rest his voice. In the 60's and early 70's they played tw

Quotebv It is a bid. Then they choose where to play. I see rumours about shows from early June to late July so may be they want to spend all of June and July in Europe, some also talk about late May and early August, so I think there is a lot of talking and options at the moment. Nothing signed yet, at the band level, but also lots of approvals from city level councils to get the biggest rock

Quotebmuseed On today the anniversary of Altamont! December 6 let me give you some info... I am sure there are many hours of footage that the public has not seen-But the Maysles, cameramen, editors, etc. have seen and probably gone over every inch of film dozens of times. That may be your problem. Maybe you should look at a Fender Champ, go try one out in your local music store. Thanks Koen, if I remember, Keith plays the fender champ also in the studio sometimes and Pier

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 What about your amps Thomas? Most of today's amps have great presets in there, where you can get classic Fender/Marshall/Vox settings at lower volume. This doesn't really figure in your topic too much but one thing I have learned when dealing professional players in today's market; these cats out of Austin or Nashville all have a few things in common

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 What HonkyTonkFlash says is important too IMO. KR always considers depth in his production. To get a real crunch you want to have it on a bed of clean. Just hitting a pedal might give you a quick fix, but not a lasting effect. It's similar to the notion of layering a song with both acoustic and electric guitars. Those great singles from 68-74 all have lots of ac

QuoteHonkeyTonkFlash Hasn't Keith said that he rarely uses pedals (for distortion)? I thought he's said he likes to split the signal to two amps, one with a clean sound, one with a dirty sound and blend the two together.... Absolutly right HonkyTonkFlash

QuotePalace Revolution 2000 Hey Thomas, I saw that link you posted. I don't know if you are starting out playing, or if you been going for many years, and I can only offer my opinion. Seems to me that Keith's playing centers around rhythm, attack, repetition and groove - which all translates to a whole lot of soul. This is the beauty of his playing: that it can not be put in a bo

I am looking for a good sounding pedal....that a bit sounds like Keith.... My idea is a Catalinbread SFT (sounds like the AMPEG years), a Catalianbread Formula 5 ( sounds like the Fender Twin Tweed ) or the Wampler Tweed 57 pedal. Have anyone experiance with one of these boxes?
