Bochum in Germany is absolutely unlikely to see a stones show. No top act has ever played there as far as I can remember. Furthermore, there are a lot of great venues (Westfalenhalle Dortmund, Arena Oberhausen, The Kölnarena in Cologne etc...) or stadiums (Arena auf Schalke in Gelsenkirchen, LTU-Arena in Dusseldorf etc..) or concert sites close by. My guess is that they are going to play at t

Thanks a lot for this, Ludwig! It works perfectly for me. I had to install Winzip 11 first. Store both files in the same folder. Both files need to be downloaded completely before unzipping them. It took about an hour to unzip, but it's definetely worth the wait. Very good quality, filmed from opposite the stage. That's why audio and video are "out of snych", well, no

Actually we sang some Karaoke on New Years Eve and by bad luck we had to do "Sweet Home Alabama". For the very first time I actually read the lyrics (I'm from Germany) and was shocked. I refused to sing any further after those lines 'bout Neil Young - and other lines are even worse. Then we went for Sympathy for the devil.

They only played about 10 short shows in 86. They do the occasional jam with people from the audience since

U2 is one of the few bands where not only hardcore fans know each band member by their names. U2 the new Rolling Stones? You can't compare them musically. I'm a huge fan of both of them. Hard to think of any (comparably) "new" band still being active and influential in 20 or 30 years and filling stadiums like the Stones or U2 are and do.

Amps do vibrate. A lot. To put a line of coke on an amp and expect it to still be there after a few riffs would be very stupid.

My vote: Blinded By Love. I had completely forgotten about this one, didn't even remember it existed...then I listenend to a Steel Wheels Bootleg (Madrid 90?) a few weeks ago and re-discovered it. I was actually shocked how boring and "forced" the vocal melody line is. How anyone can despise Hot Stuff or even Saint Of Me and not even metion Blinded By Love is beyond me.

Thank you very much for all the information! Is there a version out there with the Harmonica on it? We're preparing to play a version close to the original on monday, together with a guest singer. Normally the sax player, I will do the Tambourine job and I made sure that we have an acoustic as well as an eletric guitar with an original fuzzbox. A friend of us told us today that he was

Zürich? With that dead-like audience? No offense, but Swiss people are the most difficult people to perform in front of, as they don't show much reaction. They behave completely "neutral", as Swiss always tries to be. No offense here, just experience;-)

I don't know actually, as I did not download from dime. My recording comes directly from the taper who transferred it to CD. It's the complete show and actually quite good and very listenable. I don't know if he traded it or one of the three guys I traded it with uploaded it on dime. Sorry, can't help here. Maybe you could upload just one song (or a few seconds) on sendspa

Yes, that's exactly what I meant, I replied during lunch break and kept it too short. You also need some songs that you can play on autopilot, where you don't have to think about the next chord or the lyrics

That's exactly what a new cat has got to do. And then move on to something of their own. In jazz music you can play or improvise your own solos, but if there is an arrangement you've got to learn that one first.

@ ablett: Why not let somebody else have a different approach? And I for one think that this is a very interesting observation. And Turning To Gold never said in one single word that the Stones should go and reproduce their recordings on stage. He just observed that Mr Wood played different stuff at Twickers and I agree with him. Where does your attack come from, ablett? Boooh!

I something like that will ever see the light of day I'd prefer it to be in chronological order. And 4 CDs of Steel Wheels and VL outtakes seem far too much for me. These records are nice, but historically irrelevant (no offense here!). Contrary to the stuff from the 60s and 70s. For Steel Wheels and VL it would be nice to have Special Editions with the full album and another disc of ses
