Just saw an interesting program on tv where the Stones was # 3 of the 20 best bands in the seventies. #2 was Elton John, and # 1 Led Zeppelin. The host of the program said that the Stones was at their peek in the early '70's but Zeppelin was the biggest live band through the whole deccade. The program focuced on the fact that It's only Rock'n Roll was a turning point for the S

Taylor does the same thing as before the last verse on Ya Yas street Fighting Man, on the first show at Fort Worth '72, just faster. It's a nice one too!

The experience of seing the Stones can vary due to many factors, like the band having a good or a bad day,and a bootleg dvd might not capture that. Still, IMO you get a picture of what they are able to offer, and it shure isn'

The Altamont festival is probably one of the most important moments in the Rolling Stones history, along with Brians death, Keith's days in Toronto '77 and their reunion in '89. Too bad it ended in such a disaster. The Gimme Shelter movie was originally supposed to be a concert movie whish was meant to show the the last leg of the 1969 "comeback" tour, with Altamont as th

IMO one of their best concerts ever. Keith's solo on Sympathy is frightning! They sound very focused at times that night, and also the sound was different and better than the rest of the tour.Especially Keith's guitar sound was a big improvement from the earlyer gig's, -though he sounded pretty cool the whole tour Also a very cool and slow version of J.J.F.

I've never liked this tour much either. There are two major changes from the tours before, (including the 1978 tour) Charlie almost stopped playing the bass drum. He became more of a pop drummer during the '81/'82 tours, and in my opinion kind of boring (sorry Charlie!) And the second thing is of cource Jaggers vocals. I wonder what he think's when listening to it now...It
