I'm curious for everyone's opinion on this great Stones song. It has been written that Mick wanted this track to be the first single from Exile and that it was truly a Rolling Stones rocker in the same mindsight of Brown Sugar and Bitch release a year before. Done live it is even better, although it depends upon which live version you like. My personal favorite is the '72 sh

Those of you going to see Aerosmith this summer, beware of one thing, it won't be a long show. People complain on this board about the Stones not playing more than 20 songs, well a band about 10 years their junior performs even less numbers and rarely exceeds a 90-105 minute show. If they are co-headlining any show, like they have done in the U.S. with Kiss or have a big name opening act a

My list is not much different, but I will only select tunes I have SEEN, HEARD, and FELT because I was there. 1. Midnight Rambler- without question the most exciting number they do live. 2. Jumpin' Jack Flash-they may play it every night, but no show is complete without it. 3. Out of Control- Besides rambler, the best live performance of any song in the last ten, maybe twenty years.

Springsteen is the only artist I know who changed his setlist routinely, particularly when playing multiple dates in the same city. With that said, Springsteen does very little lighting or choreography, sooooooo, he has more freedom to make adjustments within the setlist. The Stones No Security tour, only arenas and very little frills was very similar to Springsteen's The Rising tour in

The '81 Philly first show was awful. The second one was considerably better as the band "appeared" sober and straight. Still not nearly as good as other shows later in the tour. The first Philly show was the worst I have heard. I was there for the second show (my initiation to the Stones) and although it was not good in hindsight, at the time it was a blast!

Sept. 26 show No. 2 of the tour: Scheduled start time at JFK stadium in Philly is 11 a.m. George Thorogood takes the stage at Noon following an announcement that the start of the concert would be delayed permitting time for everyone to gain access to their seats, or more time to get drunk and stoned. Thorogood rocks for a 60 minute set, not the usual 45 minute given to the opening act.

Moonlight Mile is sung so poorly as well. PAint it Black. Awful vocals compared to the STeel Wheels versions, or e

The setlists were the best and most diverse for this tour. They changed every night at least three numbers. They left "Miss You" at home, thankfully, although we did not get "Satisfaction" either. I saw them twice on this tour, in D.C. and Philly. Similar shows, mostly because they were only one week apart, however I did get four different songs from the Philly show th

You are entitled to your opinion and it may not play like rock 'n roll. In my opinion, musically it is one of their best. The lyrics are simple, the arrangements may or may not be dependent upon on who you focus your ears. Taylor's playing is flawless and amazing! Not a rocker like Dance Little Sister or If You Can't Rock Me, not soulful like Ain't Too Proud to Beg, not fu

Although he didn't master TWFNO on this particular night, what a treat! I'm certain the Stones will never play this song with their current lineup. Unfortunately, it's beyond Woody's capability. The shame is Taylor left the band shortly after this release. I wonder if he was still a Stone in '75 if they would have played it on tour. It would have been the absolute hi

Great suggestions and comments by all for a live CD from this tour. I do think they are past the point of caring about the quality of a live CD release. They know their shows define them and have admitted as such (at least Keef has said so) they are not concerned with hit records anymore. Although one would think if they are all about the live experience, a good live CD to the masses would be

I saw The Who last night. The CD live sounds better than the studio version. As for a live act, they ceased being The Who a long time ago and are just very talented musicians with a connection to a great catalog. They sounded very good last night, although Daltrey didn't seem to find the power in his voice until halfway through the set with Baba O'Reilly. They continued to exper

Any word if and when this will be released as an official DVD for nationwide circulation in the U.S.? I know it has been released elsewhere, but I have been unsuccessful in locating a copy here, only in VHS format. Forget that, I need DVD. Unfortunately, I guess the songs will be edited like they were in the film, but not butchered as badly as Rocks Off on Live Licks. God, that still is th

I was at the second show, the 26th, a Saturday. This was my first Stones show and it was in front of 90,000 people! Thorogood opened the show an hour late, at Noon instead of the scheduled 11 a.m. start. Good idea as people were still milling around at Noon trying to find their seats when he took the stage. He and the Delaware Destroyers played a blistering 60 minute set that included hits

Swingin' Pig does have a release of the Philly matinee show. It is an excellent recording, so good it sounds like a soundboard, but I think it is an excellent audience recording even better than the 7-25 MSG recording. These labels just copy one another of the years so it could be that Swingin' Pig copied someone else's as well.

Many people have already said it here and I agree, the Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle tour as the show opener is the most widely heard best version. However I agree with jjflash88 the Baltimore show this past Feb. had a HOT version from the B-stage, where this song belongs.

Interesting set list. It must have been great to hear Sway, Worried 'Bout You and Ain't too Proud..in the same night all in a row. Great for hard core fans! I find it peculiar however that the opening numbers Satisfaction and LSTNT opened the BTB tour almost every night and the closing six following the Bstage were almost identical IN ORDER to the closing six on most nights for BT

Yes! It was played on Aug. 31, 1989 the opening night of the Steel Wheels tour in Philly. I was there and very surprised to here the original opening chords. It was a beautiful night, about 70 degrees, NOT raining, great show and is available on a boot. Coincidentally, it is the only night on the tour they played Shattered as a generator blew about five seconds before the end of the song.

Yeah I definitely think Philly will be one of their stops, IF they return to the U.S. They did two arena shows there last fall in comparison to their Atlantic seaboard cousins from Boston who had a stadium and two arena shows, and even the D.C. metro market got two arena shows if you count the one in Baltimore. Philly is traditionally VERY supportive of the Stones and could easily sell out tw

Although I know of no bootleg in circulation right now and the setlist was pretty static from previous shows, BALTIMORE was one hot show! The band did have their screw ups, but the crowd, the intimacy of the venue and the genuine joy on Keith and Mick's faces puts this one VERY high on the list.

You're right gut. They stopped concerning themselves with making music in the studio and concentrated on how they started their careers, playing live. Unfortunately, they forgot the two usually go hand in hand. However, their catalog is so large they can afford not to record. Their shows have taken on the roll of the big circus. It's a production with emphasis on lighting and a b

Actually, the film when it was released in the U.S. never contained When the Whip Comes Down. It was cut completely and unfortunately the guitar intro to Let's Spend the Night Together was also cut. Editing really hurt this film in my opinion. Brown Sugar, All Down the Line, JJF, and others lost an entire verse. The band's performance was very good as can be judged by the bootlegs f

All of us should be fortunate that we are seeing them live now as opposed to the mid 60's. As their set length was then and said Keith a few years ago, the ideal ROCK show would last 20-30 minutes before the audience would go crazy and stop the show. McCartney's shows are ho hum. Sure he plays a long time, like Elton John, but do you get that excited? Is there even an opportunit
