QuotePaddy Quotemosthigh Yes last night at the Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver was quite excellent. Nice guitar interplay and the band was really intense at times. I liked the 'free jazz' part as well. Missed the openers, but oh well... Highly recommended. Yeah Starship was really cool. Did we speak on the train after the gig by any chance? I was wearing a long sleeve Stones shirt.

QuoteHairball QuoteRockman Père Lachaise Cemetery, Paris -- 24 October 2017 ……….. Photo - Rockeeeee I visited there on a cool misty morning while in Paris in 1987 when the headstone was still in place, and it was quite an adventure. Upon entering the cemetery there were scribblings and graffiti pointing the way towards Jim's grave. Once we found it, there were several people there lo

Always funny to see rich rock stars suing other rich rock stars because they're not getting as rich as the other rich rock stars.

Saw Elton in 1986 when he was still coked and flamboyant with costume changes. Saw him again in 2014 and 2016. All the shows were great and the band is always on their game. Scored 12th row floor aisle on Elton's side for the Saturday show in Vancouver next year, got 14th row for the Sunday, but I'll probably let that one go. Nice to see he's doing 'Take Me to the Pilot&

Lisa's (and Bernard's) vocals on CYHMK really soared and brought the tune together imo. She definitely sings at the top of her range and coveys all the emotion the song deserves. I don't think they've played it since Lisa's departure, either - (but I might be wrong). If they haven't, it's pretty telling...

I saw Paul in 1989, when he was, of course, still relatively young (47), but I didn't see him again until 2012, then 2013,and 3 times in 2016, including Desert Trip #2, so I've heard how his voice has gotten a bit warble-y, yet still remained fairly melodic and powerful, but after last night's webcast I think he's really lost a few notes, and his midrange is sometimes cringe -

Its perfect in its imperfection, and it is a truly improvised jam at the end, where everyone is listening and playing off each other. It's Charlie that keeps it going into the jam, and Keith picks up next, then Bill - which is a nice example of their unique musical relationship, and how an improvised piece of music is built. Bobby and Taylor provide the leads, and the others intertwine around

They are called 'Fleetwood Mac' because the core members are Mick Fleetwood, and John Macvie since the beginning in 1967. Sure, Buckingham is from the 'classic' lineup (aka. most successful), but they've gone through many other guitarists/singers as well from Peter Green to Bob Welsh to Dave Mason. 18 members and counting.

After Phish's cancelled Curveball Festival this weekend at Watkins Glen NY, some 150 miles away from Bethel, due to flooding and unsafe drinking water, the prospect of a Woodstock anniversary thing next year just got seriously undermined. ...unless they want to recreate the conditions of the '69 "official disaster zone" fest.

Quotehopkins "Initial sessions for "Helter Skelter" were so intense that they ultimately included the longest song the Beatles ever recorded: a 27-minute version of the track that later appeared on their self-titled double album in abbreviated form. The same sessions, held on July 18, 1968, also produced takes that were more than 10 and 12 minutes long. These lengthy jam

Perhaps there was a secret song vote. I secretly voted for Rocks Off. It was a vote between Mick, Keith, Ronnie, & Charlie.

Glad for that, was hoping for a name change on the next one One may fear that the only change to a possible new tour will be for the name of that tour. Hey, it's better than McCartney's upcoming "Freshen Up" tour (sponsored by Eve's Summer Douche, no doubt).

The secondary market can work in your favour as well. I don't know haw many times I've paid less than face - often 30 -60% discount for prime seats. Case in point: got two 8th row tix to 'sold out' David Byrne, the day of the show for $37 usd each, face was $90. Sure, its spinning the roulette wheel, and sometimes you come up empty, but its like the stock market - (p

QuoteHairball Groupon wow...and I thought selling through Costco w/discounts was the low point. Feel bad for those who paid full price, but I did mention when sales started it was worth waiting for price drops and discounts - there was NO way they would sell all those tickets at those ridiculous prices. I imagine the secondary markets will be cutting prices by at least 75% off face value just a

I was there last night as well. Paul was in good form, with a solid band, featuring the bass player from 'Graceland' album, which got a decent shake, as did 'Rhythm of the Saints' - which was fine by me. A few deep and never-before-played cuts, along with a sparse smattering of S&G hits were among the setlist. I'm only a casual fan, and had little expectations, altho
