Quotestonesrule FYI, Yves Saint Laurent died of brain cancer in 2008. The Saint Laurent Collection is presently being designed by Hedi Slimane. Yes, the designer himself retired in 2002 (and died, as you pointed out, in 2008). The house he founded is still called Saint Laurent, of course.

Sorry if this already has been shared on IORR; I didn't find it when I searched past posts for Saint Laurent. Just watched the YSL biopic, then was looking around for pictures of Warhol and Jagger with the designer and found this blog-post showing the direct connection between Stones style and items in the Saint Laurent Men Spring Summer 2015 collection. Kind of fun. Inspiration - Saint L

I work at a thoroughbred racetrack, where Frank Sinatra, Billy Joel, and various traditional tunes played on bugle are the usual audio background. Don't know who was at the controls today, but "Gimme Shelter" made it on to the playlist. A welcome change!

President Of The United States. You know, that guy who's married to FLOTUS and lives in the White House. And yeah, I hear they have a big rose garden and grow vegetables, too.

I agree, Keith does this song so well. His version is on the soundtrack to the 1996 film "Basquiat" too. KR "The Nearness of You" from "Basquiat"

I'm a fan. I like Bad As Me a lot, and I like many of the early tunes. Any of his songs can be played from his website, btw. Do watch him performing (online) too. And here he is, with Keith, singing "Shenandoah" (a traditional American song) Waits & Richards Shenandoah

Quotelatebloomer Okay, but that flag picture has to go. I agree. I wouldn't allow the Stars and Bars in my home. But the banner does have an interesting history on Long Island: Great Neck High School Rebels

QuoteNaturalust QuoteRokyfan Frank Lloyd Wright inspired design for the poster. There are some houses in the areas he designed, (I don't know the details), and there is a famous office building downtown designed by his teacher Louis Sullivan, the great Chicago architect. Yes, thanks, that appears to be the inspiration behind the poster. In fact here is a picture of the actual pane which

Quotejasona93 QuoteMingSubu The poster artwork, how is it related to Buffalo? Buffalo is home of some Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, which feature stained glass in the style of the poster. One of the properties, the Darwin Martin House, was visited today by a certain singer and drummer. The Buffalo area was a center for the American Arts & Crafts Movement in the late 19th and early 20th

Quotebv Is there a bus or train from Detroit to Buffalo? Flights take six hours via via. This seems to be the shortest still the most complicated part of the tour travel... The most direct is a red-eye (The Lakeshore Limited) out of Chicago. You'd have to take a train to Chicago and change, or take a bus to Toledo and change. Many hours, but couchettes are available for the long overni
