Quotelem motlow the old version shows them down and miserable so the Beatleheads are happy and like the new one better, is that correct? No. Whilst it is true that the old version shows arguments, it's by no means 90% of the time arguing. There are stretches when it's simply the Fabs in a studio trying to record songs, plus the Glory of the Rooftop Concert. The new versio

QuoteNICOS I'm totally not interested in a new version of the original Let It Be movie, it doesn't showed the atmosphere of the Peter Jackson version Ah! My brain obviously could not compute the meaning of the article as it was such a silly endeavour. Carefully remastering/remixing the albums with an obsessive attention to detail that hugely improves the recreation of the sound ma

QuoteManofwealthandtaste Interesting article, thanks Hairball. Of course, Giles Martin continues the good work.....currently on the soon to be released/remastered/recolourised Let It Be film. Eh? "soon to be released..." Was I imagining last year's release by Peter Jackson of a version that was about 8hrs long, Giles talking about how the technology developed for that ha

Before he lost possession of the record he made a photographic copy (of the labels) and created reproductions of the record (to frame and sell). We bought one as a wedding present to two Beatle Fan friends. The reproduction was carefully made so that the grooves in no way copied, or could be represented as being copied from the original. It did look good. Last time I saw the present it was

I went to the Brighton show, and indeed the only way for normal people get tickets was to queue all night outside a record shop that was nearby in Brighton's famous Lanes. The down side of that was that I missed seeing The Kinks who were in town that night. The up-side (other, than tickets of course) was that I was handed two posters - which are now more than averagely valuable. The Bri

Younger readers may be interested in the fact that last evening (March 2nd) Ed Sheeran beat his own record for attendance. He played to about 101,000 at the MCG in Melbourne (close to Rockman's back garden?). He'll beat it again tonight with an expected crowd of 107,000. For the record, I don't 'get' Ed Sheeran, but recognise that he's darned popular.

Quotercfoxy The Nathan Levy Rolling Stones Poster Collection Auction!! Many of you will recall a couple of years ago our old friend Nat Levy sadly passed away. Nat was a wonderfully kind and generous guy. He had also amassed one of the biggest Stones collections in the world. His estate with the help of our other friend Matt Lee have put in place an auction of his huge poster collection (&

QuoteTaylor1 The circulating tracks from Wembley are great, so a complete Wembley show. Also i think the first Brussels show was better than the second show which they officially released. 1972 and the Pacific Tour is so lacking in any great sounding official releases. I was at the Sunday night show at Wembley. 9th September 1973, cost 2.20pounds. That was the

Quotedeeeskannnie QuoteDeathgod I’m hearing album couldn’t be pressed until September Hence delays really?? It's not at all implausible. Vinyl has become VERY popular among the young. The demand has overwhelmed the resources to press albums. I seem to recall that Taylor Swift and Adele both had scheduling problems with pressing their latest albums to vinyl. So if The Rolling

Neither the posting by midimannz, nor the link, make it clear quite how extraordinary the rain in Auckland was. From a news report. > Between 8pm and 10pm on Friday night, more than 131mm of rain fell in Auckland. MetService said a record amount of rain had fallen in the city in the past 24 hours. By 1am, the region had recorded 249mm of rain, exceeding the previous 24-hour record of 161.8

I guess I have to point out that this "rumour" of Paul McCartney recording with The Stones is not as absolutely far fetched as everyone seems to think. Here's a well documented example of Paul happening to be in a studio, hearing something by someone else, and volunteering to add something to the track. I would not put it past him to do just that for a Rolling Stones trac
