QuoteDancelittleSister Quotenightskyman I've never heard the original version of this (supposedly with Taylor playing on it using acoustic guitar). I'd be interested in listening to it...is that available anywhere on the web or youtube? As far as I know it there's no such version, but I would love to be proven wrong. Maybe someone can post it here. Then how can anyone make

Love how Keith messes Bill at the end (touching Bill's head as Bill sits in wheelchair). You can see Brian smirking, suppresing a laugh.

I view the Stones as on par with the Beatles. The idea that the Stones albums are so good that whatever songs might be filler are great on on any other band's albums. At least that's the case up to the Undercover album.

Question I've always wanted to ask: Is it safe to say Keith Richards (apart from perhaps planning, rehearsals, locations, set lists, sound) had nothing to do with the stage design and/or production of the concerts 1969-current?

Quotelatebloomer 50-60 inches of snow coming to New York and the NorthEast U.S.?... Yikes! Yep, it's supposed to be a monster - Mid Atlantic region, where I am, is where the heaviest snow fall is expected. Blizzard conditions with 50 mph winds, heck we may even see rare thunder snow. Gonna run a few errands this morning and then hunker down for the weekend. Think I better pull out four fl

QuoteSilver Dagger Love the way Brian signs himself as'Leader'. He was, at the time, 'Leader.' I don't blame him for assigning himself that role, though it's telling that the letter is technically a follow up on Jagger's phone call to the paper.

Actually the article is quite fascinating. Perkin's observations are intriguing...offering a tiny little glimpse into the Stones' world at the time (in particular Mick and Keith). The idea that wanted to see how Perkins looked on stage, next to the others...a bit strange, but I suppose it was relevant (it was, after all,, an audition). The stuff on Clapton is also fascinating.

There's also the Stones version of 'I Wanna Be Your Man.' The overall guitar sound and Brian's solo on that record (released almost a year earlier than the Kinks YRGM) were pretty heavy for its time. Did that influence Dave? (He doesn't mention it) While I don't like Keith Richard's method of promoting his solo album, I don't think many took his comments

This proves (obviously) that Carolina is for real...and earned a home game for NFC championship. Arizona will be a tough opponent, but likely Carolina will prevail. From Seattle's perspective, it proves how difficult it is to get back to the Super Bowl (or win two Super Bowls). Wish Steelers win and meet the Pats.

Quotekeefriffhard4life Quotemighty stork Quotekeefriffhard4life packers were lucky. imo that was not a TD catch. the player never had control of the ball before it got punched out What are yoyu talking about? The ball didn't come lose until well after he was flat on his back. Doesn't really matter since the Cardinals won in overtime, but that sure was a good game to watch.

This is what probably injured Roethlisberger rather than the sack itself. http://steelerswire.usatoday.com/2016/01/10/replay-shows-burficts-sack-of-roethlisberger-not-so-clean-after-all/]Burfict sack Yeah, Burfict not innocent so Jones' protests on social media prett

QuoteTurner68 I like the performance of "Dead Flowers" on this. Mick Taylor's playing on it is good. Agreed...that's the one I'm most familiar with from youtube and here on this blog. Have to say Keith looks energetic but quite pale in the video...unless that's simply the subpar quality of the video.

QuoteMaindefender Quotekarimamilena Went to the record store today to get Bowies Blackstar and had a brief look into the German Rolling Stone magazine. "Best albums of 2015" made me curious. And what did I find??? In the reader's poll section Crosseyed Heart made it on no. 1 and Trouble on no. 6, right after Bowie's Blackstar. Wonderful, I always thought we Germans had a no

Fascinating stuff...Keith in the 70s seemed to look for trouble. Though it was brave of Jagger to try to stop the arrest, I can imagine him pissed at Keith (I haven't read Greenfield's account, so don't know) for causing the arrest. Unless this got the notoriety the Stones needed...and the delay of the concert at the Boston Garden worked to their advantage (thus Jagger pleased).

Quotemartinw Camden used to be good years ago, before the fire, but nowadays all you get are con-artists flogging CDRs/DVD-Rs etc that they have downloaded from the same places we have. There are some stalls selling records, but they are way overpriced. I think Camden is just for tourists nowadays. Spitalfields is much the same I'm afraid. There are a couple of second-hand record shops still

I've always thought it as Lennon's parody of Dylan's 'Like a Rolling Stone.' Also, as pointed out, the longer version from the 'Get Back' sessions make this clear...including the improvisational nature of the lyrics they were doing with other songs (including the comical 'Get Off!' and even the early versions of the song "Get Back!"). Anyw

Green Bay also conveniently lost, so to face Washington in the playoffs rather than Seattle. Even on the road I'd think Green Bay would prefer this playoff scenario. Also like seeing Pittsburgh in the playoffs again, in a weak class may have a shot.

Looking to see if the Washington Redskins will amount to anything. So many teams I'd thought might have strength but proved me wrong. But now it's looking like Carolina, Arizona and Seattle are the top 3 NFC and the Pats in the AFC (I'm still not a believer of Green Bay, Cincy or The Steelers).

QuoteTurner68 Quotecrholmstrom It was pretty good. Better than the last 3 certainly. I'd say tied for third best with "Return of the Jedi". "Empire" best, 1st one second. Most of the cast good but I thought the villian was a bit of a fop. Hopefully that situation will improve. Thought the end was the best part. A worthy effort overall. I agree with your ranking actually
