Because it wasn’t his natural voice but a forced one I think he’s wrecked his voice or burned out that part of the vocal chords. His rasp was never a natural part of his voice. I saw GnR in 92 and it was over then. Axl’s raspy voice was a forced effect he put on his voice back then, it wasn’t a naturally raspy voice like say a Lemmy who’s singing voice was like that and stayed like that till the end.
