Great great great song. By the way, Have you ever heard a song related to trains whose sound/rythmn/melody envelopes your mind as if you really were in one of them as this song does?.

Better late than never... The traditonal "alternate" take is the one where Clapton joined but I have discovered this. I guess it belongs to the corresponding original versions. May somebody add more info? Thanks.

The pie is so good and so far beyond any other band could even dream of that I don´t care about the taste of each ingredient separately. Brussels is a non stop flash. It seems to me very difficult to understand why some fans (who are undoubtedly expert bona fide fans) don´t let themselves carry by the flood bursting from the loudspeakers.

An all members tour guarantees sold out gigs and media focus to the max. It also could be their last chance of winning loads, hills, mountain ranges of money. A final reunion would be the best (legitimate) bait.

There's no accounting for taste... Keith Richards beating someone with his guitar on this tour has deserved attention for years....but in my taste the begining of this Madrid concert with the wall of fallen ballons standing between the audience and the band while the storm was breaking is memorable. But no one seems tho share my opinion. Well that´s a matter of taste...

yes but...for instance...Keith Richards said that whe he dies God will ask him for money to pay the storm that blew out in Madrid 1982...What a film is missing... Rumour has it that when Jagger saw the lightings shouted "let´s begin NOW!" There was so much pouring rain that the sun dissapeared at once (watch 1:16) and the ballons fell.

Thanks Gazza. They then were not aware of the value of their work to the extent of filming sistematically the gigs. One reason I think would be that in the end as they were a walking hymn of Carpe Diem they had no reason to think about at those times. As we say in spanish they were living hand to mouth. Melillo...imagine a Hal Ashbyesque film of this gig (in its entirity) ...

Thanks no comment for your clarification. As long as my mother tongue is not english I have to fight every day with this fantastic language and my use of it is far from being accurate (I by the way failed a recent exam in Britsh Council...) ANd the key question is TooTough´s ....where does the Still Lie version belongs? Bv should make a contest....for me it is imposible to know.

As well as the Stones have loads of recordings of every tour, could be it feasible to issue a box of films of complete gigs of each tour besides the ones we know? I miss a decent film of TOTA and the subsequent european 76 tour. Can you imagine a sequel of Hal Ashby 81 tour consisting of a pair of 82 european gigs..for instance Spain or Italy where their audiences made the USA ones looking lik

QuoteDoxa Maybe Jagger has asked Charlie (with whom he did "jam" during the summer and made some blues songs) to check if Keith and Ronnie are in any shape to do anything worthwhile, and then report him if any real future activity is worth time and investion... It starts to sound like it is Charlie the key mediator - and musically the only link - between the Twins nowadays.. Hmmm..

The reasons why I love Stones music are the same reason whereby I deeply and utterly hate Metallica and all kinds of the heavy/speed metal bands as well as Nirvanas, Smashing Pumpkins and their presents heirs. Just opposite concepts/categories/approachs to some aspects of life reflected in their lyrics, rythmn, swing, groove or whatever you might call them. When I hear the Stones anything

If you let me ad lib a bad joke.. The only way I would imagine Keith playing drums could be ..mnnnn....may be in the 1972 Tour.... Keith is angrily banging the bass drum searching for something hidden by Bobby Keys inside it . On is way to the airport. Some magic powders were dangerously put there by his sax friend...so...he became a drummer as a last resort..

VL = Stones trying (and achieving) to sound as the Stones Underrated and lovely album. House music was in its peak at that time (at least in my country) so this album had no chance anywhere. Great Great album IMHO.

Regardless SW content SW itself and the tour was instrumental as it became the link between the Golden Era (when Stones still were musically waited by people and market) and the Vegas/Legend/Mith/Nostalgia/ subsequent tours (and records operating as an alibi for those tours). The bridge bewteen the Golden Era and the Business/Museum/Respectable/Legend Era. I love both by the way.
