Hey, Hardriffin, is this your work (removing the vox, I mean). Could you do the reverse - extract and give us only the vox? I absolutely love this track, and in particular, Keith's harmonies with Mick. Just beautiful, and I'd love to hear it acapella.

I don't know if that's true or not, but I nearly spat out my coffee laughing! Love it! QuoteMadMax Listening to it now after making love to the mistress, great tune! Easily Top 5 when talking Hackney Diamonds.

Agreed. For a man as erudite and sophisticated at Mr J, it is rather pathetic.

Why the surprise, Hardriffin? Those swaggering guitars don't impress you?

QuoteSomeTorontoGirl Here’s the Album Talk we all need! A few familiar - and knowledgeable - faces discussing it track by track. The superb IORR band leader, Bård Anderson and the delightful Gazza / Gary are front and centre! Enjoy. Interesting viewing, but why did the third guy refuse to turn on his camera?

I agree, Doxa, All About You is a stone cold classic. I absolutely love that tune - and the icing on the cake for me are the subtle but creative (almost avant guard) backing vocals ("want it want it want it want it...''). Just absolutely brilliant. (and this is coming from someone who has never managed to get all the way through Keith's Bridges ballads)

The verses are definitely reminiscent of Thru and Thru, but the chorus is very very close to All About You - the chord progression, the melody, hell even the lyrics: Everyone is asking questions, yeah I got one or two Just need a little time just to clear the mind And find out if it's true Who'll tell me those lies? Let me think they're true, yeah I heard one or two Th

I'd love to see that quote where Keith warns about listening to too broad a spectrum of music. It seems to be that the more eclectic your listening, the more inspiration will strike you.

In general, that's one of the things I love about this album: it's well crafted. A little extra attention and inspiration applied all of the songs - an unexpected repeat of a line, or bridge that heads in surprising direction. I imagine this is the work of Andrew Watt - arranging, grabbing parts from various demos to make one killer song, and, crucially, pushing/encouraging the p

Sounds like someone's been listening to Franz Ferdinand (ironically they were huge when ABB came out), but the Stones do it with panache - or maybe they invented it with Shattered...

Oh how I love this track. Sultry memories of Crazy Mama, Ronnie dousing the track with liquid silk, and Keith at his propulsive/lazy best.

I loved this track the first time I heard it; sax, percussion and late summer sunshine. Who else hears mid 70s-era (On The Beach?) Neil Young in the yearning guitars?

Channeling Steel Wheels all the way! Four ear-worm sections one after another. Big Blondie vibes on this one. It's silly, but so well crafted that it works.

love this track - even though (or maybe because) it's basically a re-write of All About You.

I think it's a fantastic tune too, GLS, but what critics are 'up in arms' about those lines? I've don't recall seeing negative comments about that track (with the exception of a couple of perennial moaners here)

There was so much negative reaction here when Watt's name was first mentioned as producer, but it seems that the vast majority are very pleased with his work. What does that say about us? ><
