QuoteTseverin I don’t know where videojames got his info but I worked at the BBC from 1987 and Knebworth was virtually the first thing I looked for in the archives. There was only ever the under an hour footage, they never shot the whole show. Thanks for the info, Tseverin. This only adds to my impression that Videojames' infos sometimes are a bit fishy, that he's intentionally making

Quoteslewan QuoteGasLightStreet Releasing music on YouTube counts as publishing but it's not exactly commercial use - it's different than printing a million copies of a book, putting them in stores etc and no one buys one. I pointed that aspect out somewhere above. And I doubt that putting stuff on youtube for free (and just for some 1,5 days) counts as commercial use… But as long a

Quotedcba Quoteslewan Beside that I suppose Watchtower was just one song amongst others in those days. The song only became famous after Jimi Hendrix covered it. Had he instead released Drifter's Escape (which he in fact recorded, too) on Electric Ladyland most people might not remember Watchtower at all (and Dylan himself would have done Drifter's instead of Watchtower 1000+ times in

Quotefalo01 Quotedcba Falo, a few years ago you said you could have access to basically the whole 95 Euro (or at least its German part?) in DAT format. Do you have any news? Yes, I have the original DATs for a year now in my archive. It's from the guy who did the 1st Wolfsburg recording as well as TSPs Beast of Belgium & Da lapa incident. Now to the bad part: All original DATs are u

Quotemicha063 I was at this show. The ground was the asphalt of the space in front of the VW factory and that was very uncomfortable. The show was ok but not outstanding. The real bad experience was: the german train company didn't make it to let some extra trains go. So I and thousands of other people had to wait for hours at the train station of Wolfsburg. The whole thing was exhausting

Quotefalo01 QuoteCCK Hi falo, do you have the raw recording of Hockenheim 1995 as well? Chris unfortunately damaged as well, digital clicks throughout the recording. Is it really a case of the tapes being damaged? Sounds more like tracking issues, not uncommon back in the day, when certain DAT players were not 100% compatible with others (playback heads not exactly in the same position as

Thanks a lot, Captain. Great work as usual! However, actually listening to these shows reveals why they were shelved, and that has nothing to do with any technical flaws. It turns out that Dylan himself was not in his best form. While the musical performances and arrangements sound mostly good, Dylan's voice on many of these performances lacks subtlety, sounds harsh and sometimes downrigh

I agree with Bill Wyman who said that with Steel Wheels, everything the Stones could artistically say was done and that there was nothing left to add. Back then, after the disappointing 80's, I saw Steel Wheels as a return to form, as the start of a new era with more top albums to come. But in fact, although I did not agree with Wyman at the time, he was right - Steel Wheels was the final
