I totally agree that 82 was not nearly as good as 81. Actually I think many tours Europe got screwed as they played the US always first and with more energy/drive. 75 was better to me than 76, 81 better than 82, 89 better than 90 and on it goes. Earlier tours not so much.

I guess like anything there are good and bad, when they act like the bands is when its too much. I saw the Rolling Bones several years ago. Band was great singer was obnoxious trying to make people dance and had the oppositive affect people were leaving. Dead cover bands like Joe Russo is Almost Dead sell out red rocks multiple times a year. Huge Dead fan and I think they are wayyyyyyy better
