Yeah his Vintage MD Nike sunglasses from 2014 looked better on him I'd say ;-) This is the stage where Keith leaves the studio hap

Quotekeefriffhards The Stones are loosing integrity, they have become so fractured at this point in time, what happens now effects the past. Would Keith and Mick of the 60s and 70s have had anything to do with the product that's being put out now as the Stones. So desperate to be valid in some way or another in old age they are open to let whatever will happen to their legacy. Do you ha

QuoteProfessorWolf wow so not made up of leftovers from the hackney diamonds sessions that really does raise some interesting questions about what we're about to hear and what the fate of those dozen hd outtakes is gonna be hope they kept the leftover tracks with bill and charlie This is just speculation, but maybe they're re-recording some of the songs that were originall

I checked this forum every day for news on the new album, and I knew that when it was finally stickied then things would be getting real. So it's a little like Christmas morning for me! I'll take every note of new music that I can possibly get. It's fantastic knowing that more new music is on the way. No longer a rumor or a wish, but really moving through the pipeline. It

My theory is that they left the Dua Lipa track off Hackney Diamonds in order to let Lady Gaga have a bit more of the spotlight. But I'd be actually surprised if they didn't record anything with Dua Lipa.

Quotekeefriffhards Tattoo You was a bunch of leftovers from brilliant albums produced by a brilliant producer. This is garbage leftovers. You think "Hackney Diamonds" is really garbage? That's hard for me to believe. I was just rereading the album thread, and you said there that you loved the first two singles. "I love the two new singles though and I'm proud of

Quotekeefriffhards Talking of cringy, if this new album is what we are led to believe, an album of Hackney Diamonds leftovers, that takes cringe to a whole new level. What a way to end such an incredible career of creative genius together. You are really something else. What kind of "fan" cringes at the idea of new music from their favorite band? Tattoo You was a bunch of leftov

Does anyone know if there's a dedicated J geils thread here on this forum? I have a devil of a time using the search function here. Last night I listened to "You're Getting Even While I'm Getting Odd" for the first time, their only album without Wolf. While it is several big steps down from their previous stuff, and it has some of the worst cover art I've ever see

QuoteKurt “But there's almost no discussion about his songwriting with Seth Justman or the big J. Geils songs themselves, other than very briefly mentioning that some were hits.” Jah…. Justman got full songwriting credit for Centerfold, the band’s biggest hit, and that has everything to do with the band breaking up. Thus the reason, in my opinion, that Wolf doesn’t write much about Geil

I just finished reading Peter Wolf's book. It was pretty good. Parts I enjoyed more than others. The Houston press review just above is pretty much on point. Each chapter is mainly focused on a different personality that Wolf has met during his lifetime. The Muddy Waters chapter is a highlight. Bob Dylan getting enraged and ripping into Wolf for asking "What is truth?" was anoth

This is extremely exciting. It's always a surprise to come in and hear actual news about another album, and even a teaser clip of Mick in the studio. I can't believe it's all really happening. They're working on another album and it might not be too much longer before they release it. I like Mick's singing in the clip. Keep rolling, Stones!

I enjoyed the new song. It's no classic, but I thought it was okay. Maybe I just have a lot of good will for early Alice Cooper.

Quotetreaclefingers We are on the same page...though I thought Steel Wheels sounded a bit cold. I like the songs though. Weirdly I've always felt the sterile sound of Steel Wheels is kind a strength on some tracks like Hold On To Your Hat, which I always pictured was recorded in a CD clean room!

I think the band is a little bit too traditional for Jack White doing Don't Pass Me By. I'm 100% convinced he would rock this song hardcore with his own band. But this version is way way too safe and tame.

I don't know, I guess I'm weird. I like late era Stones as much as any other era of the Stones. Undercover has to be one of the most overproduced records they've ever made and I still like it, so saying the amount of production was ruining the music doesn't make much sense to me. Hackney diamonds actually seems underproduced compared to an album like Undercover. And what is Sa

"Spinal Tap II" is a clever title. It's a 2 and an 11 at the same time. I'm hoping that they were able to find a spark of inspiration. Bands like the Stones who are still performing made this film possible, ya know!
