I did not do any shows at all 2012-2014 because of the stale setlist. Only did two for Zip Code and they were both Lucky Dips at that. Same reason. If the setlists were more dynamic, then figure I would have done about my average number of shows per tour for both date ranges. That means I passed on roughly 10 shows. 10 shows for which I would have paid top price range to get as close to the stage

They could do a medley.... one minute each of their entire catalog.

Take those 30 off and there won't be anything left. Classic rock stations have just as bad of a set list problem as the Stones. I mostly just listen to music on YouTube anymore.

34 years ago, such a long time. I saw them three times in '81 (plus the PPV), and I must say it was a FUN tour. The Stones looked good and they sounded good. The last tour of the classic Stones. Opening night, JFK - drove from Columbus to Philly all alone (just broke up with girlfriend of 4 years). Arrived downtown around noonish and got a hotel room for about $60. Freshened up and heade

Quoteindystonesfan Maybe they will do a Great North or Arctic Circle type tour: Vancouver, Calgary, St. Petersburg Russia, Estonia, Finland, etc... I know my geography might not get up past the line but the idea is Northern Cities... Maybe the Northern Lights Tour 2016 An Arctic Circle tour would not be possible because of the mosquitoes.

I am confused as to why the following became war horses... Gimme Shelter Sympathy For the Devil You Can't Always Get What You Want Midnight Rambler It's Only Rock and Roll Tumbling Dice The first four were not singles (flip sides don't count), and the last two did not make the top five (in the USA, anyway). When we bought their albums we didn't repeatedly spin those

They blew my mind twice... 1) Hang on Sloopy. Heard it at soundcheck but thought they were just joking around. The Stones and Ohio State football are my two favorite forms of entertainment. It was pure magic when the crowd did the O-H-I-O chant. Looked like Mick was not expecting it. Wonderful. 2) Happy - Pittsburgh. For some reason, I was mesmerized with Keith's vocal phrasing during

Quotetreaclefingers I think in most cases, songs are written before the album comes out, unless they aren't on that album. Unless you're Bill Wyman.

5) the ending of Titanic. 4) the gathering of donors in George Bailey's house in It's a Wonderful Life. 3) Dorothy saying goodbye before going back to Kansas. 2) The death of Edgar Halcyon in Tales of the City. (technically, a tv mini-series). 1) The death of Ratso Rizzo. hm: when Glinda and Elphaba sing goodbye in Wicked the musical. Would probably be #1 if it was an actual movi

I'm starting to think you should go the honest route. I had a situation exactly like this one and had to lie my way thru a couple of shows. One day last year my friend wanted to come to town and spend a few days at my place. I told him he was welcome to come stay with us for as long as he needed but that he couldn't drink here. That ended the friendship. Ultimately i realized he wasn

QuoteMore Hot Rocks Just tell him you asked from a buddy who had 5th row to go with him. So you canceled the lucky dip tickets. That's even better! Someone could post a new thread out here offering up a 5th row ticket and you could reply that you will take him/her up on the offer, and voila!.... you could direct your friend to that particular thread to show "proof" that you are t

QuoteTheGreek tell him the "girlfriend "wants to go to the show instead and you have no choice about the matter . end of story . why have a stones concert ruined by a drunken jerk like the guy you describe . That's a good, viable excuse. Or maybe tell him you messed up and bought tickets to the wrong show. Having to tell a lie in this situation is almost inevitable. Just pick one

Tough call, been in that situation myself. The important thing is don't feel guilty about it. From being familiar with a lot of your posts, you seem like a great person to go to a show with. Good luck.

Hey fellow musicians....Similar to "the 6 degrees of separation" theory, how many degrees of separation are you from jamming with the Stones? ex: I'm 5 degrees away using two different routes: Me (jammed several times with Matt N.) Matt N.(guitarist for Ronald Koal & the Trillionaires, auditioned for Chris Isaak) Chris Isaak Jim Keltner (was on Isaak's Silvertone
