Uhh... is this even the boys, or some disco outfit called Rox covering (parts of) these songs?

I always thought of it as a nice little foreshadowing of what's on the flip side of the 45 rpm single. The concept gets lost when the format changes to albums, CDs, etc.

This is posted at Stonesdoug's Shidoobee board: Shine A Light European release date for Blu-Ray and regular DVD ; 09-23-2008 My guess is, if true, a North American release date would be at about the same time.

Re Verbs disc. It's available on Amazon.com. Unfortunately, it's about $36, with shipping, and, unfortunately, can't listen to track samples.

He's said he spun the wheel against a knife blade. I've forgotten the particular knife he used, but he said you get a sound with a knife blade against spokes that no other object can match. I'll take his word for that!

Ronnie has said that Bill Wyman and Charlie Watts helped him gain "full member" status" within the band around the time of or shortly after the Steel Wheels/Urban Jungle tours.

"...in an interview to promote a Martin Scorsese documentary about the band..." Hey, Keith's been doing this kind of thing for decades -- it gets press when they're promoting a new product or tour, and it keeps them in the public eye when they're off the road.

They did Might as Well Get Juiced live during one of the MSG Babylon shows at it just SMOKES. You can feel the vibe steaming up out of the bayou. Damn pity they haven't done it live more often. I also like the way they used a version of it to open the No Security tour shows, with the B&W video.

Don't Stop also is a great song to have blaring when you're approaching an intersection and there's a line of cars behind someone who's waiting to turn left, and the righthand lane opens up, so you change lanes, downshift into second and go roaring through and on your way. That's the magic of Don't Stop.

Hey, you know, Keith uses the word b**** the way most people use the words ma'am or lady. I wouldn't read a lot into his choice of word. I wouldn't use it. Nor would I use lady -- or ma'am for anyone under the age of 92 -- but I wouldn't read a lot into his use of b****.

If you get a chance and can find it, check out the version aired on Mystery Science Theatre 3000! It's MUCH better watching the 'bots riff on the movie, which, save for seeing Ronnie and The Birds, is extremely, extremely awful. The Mystery Science Theatre 3000 website is www.mst3k.com -- they sell DVDs of their shows, though not sure whether The Killer Bees is currently available.

I'd love to see them make Out of Control a perma-part of their tour sets. But not the truncated version from the Bigger Bang tour --the whole, blows-all-the-doors off version from the Babylon tour. If you get a chance, listen to the version they played at the '97 VH1 fashion awards. Keith's amp is turned WAY UP and it blows through your speakers like a train through your living roo
