I'd Much Rather Be With the Boys (Metamorphosis) (Walkin' Thru The) Sleepy City (Metamorphosis) Sing This All Together (See What Happens) (TSMR) Sympathy For The Devil (The Neptunes extended remix) Blue Turns To Grey (December's Children) I am not a big fan of Dirty Work or the latest power ballad either but I thought I would offer up some truly wretched tracks that are a li

Loved Van Halen (saw them in '81), hated Van Hagar. I would love to see a DLR reunion but the truth is DLR is almost completely insane and his talent / looks / voice etc. are seriously on the wane. It seems like Eddie is in very poor health and has turned from a nice guy to a bitter crab. Do you remeber his hip replacement surgery? It was reported at the time that alcoholism was a major

My Amazon review of Undercover: Put this in perspective: A.1979's Emotional Rescue was pretty much made up of Some Girls outtakes B.1981's excellent Tattoo You was in reality an odds and sods release made up of half forgotten gems recorded throughout the 70's, rescued from the vaults and polished up. C.1982's Still Life was the ragged glory live album documentin

Side note: From the mid '80's to the mid '90's there was a biker bar band that played in Portland, Oregon called The Batz. These guys were a lot of fun but in no way a big deal, just a very humble rock band made up of guys in their 40's that would play Wednesday nights at low end taverns. They played virtually the same classic rock set every time I saw them: A coup

It is the ultimate petty, chickenshit gesture. If they wanted to find a period picture without Wyman in it, fine, but a performance picture with the bass player cropped out is just absurd. The old Soviet Politburos used to pull this trick after a member had been purged. You can also sort of imagine a pouty school girl with an iMac and a scanner doing the same thing to her ex-best friend. I

Re: Your thoughts on: Still Life Posted by: Leonard Keringer (IP Logged) Date: December 12, 2005 19:21 agreed cbtaco19....love the '81 tour....too bad they didn't make it a full show double lp....expanded edition....great idea (though i doubt that the Stones care at all) Right! But, we know that they do care about $$$. To me, this is the great mystery. They have milked the r

Literally, every review I have ever read pans Still Life. Why? I have loved it since it was released. Still Life was the live document of the '81-'82 tour which was the most hyped and adored concert tour of my lifetime, universally praised by every rock critic of the time. It also gave the Stones version of Going To A Go-Go to the world which is no small thing. How about 20 Flight Rock!

I was a kid in the '70's, mostly unaware of the Rolling Stones beyond the greatest hits; I loved Satisfaction though. Tattoo You and the '81 tour changed all that (remember the MTV video for Start Me Up?). My "Stones Absorption Period" lasted throughout the 1980's as I drunkely reveled in all the great eras (Brian Jones, Sticky Fingers, '78, etc.). I love Some G

I'll take it a step further and suggest that no real Stones fan has ever given a crap about any remixed Stones song. It is so exciting to track down a CD single with one, two or three, previously unreleased songs or live versions and it is so depressing to look at the back of a single and see two or three "Remixes" of the same song. Why do they do this? Let's face it, Do

I will confine my list to the comparatively recent releases and only ones that they play live or have released as singles: Streets of Love You Got Me Rockin' Mixed Emotions Sad Sad Sad Rock and a Hard Place Don't Stop From the classic era, I have never really cared for Live With Me. Not exactly sure why, but it has always grated on me a little.

I know this topic has been broached elsewhere, but I have tried to put together a comprehensive list of the innacuracies in my review at Amazon. The liner notes in the booklet are embarrassingly bad, riddled with errors. The clown who wrote them just does not know his Stones and nobody connected with the band evidently cared enough to proofread! Please see below and offer corrections or additions

Regarding the so-called "Rarities" release, may I humbly point out to the Greediest Rock and Roll Band in the World that not a single Rolling Stones fan has ever once been excited about a "Remixed" version of a Stones song. Mick Jagger do you listen to your remixes? When you really want to get fired up and party down do you crank up the "New Rock Remix" of Don

Rolling Stones, make this a memorable tour by playing the following songs: 1. Emotional Rescue: Put this in the Miss You slot. The audience would love it 2. She Was Hot: Make this overproduced song come to life live. Make it the barnburner in place of If You Can't Rock Me or Rocks Off 3. Pretty Beat Up: Incredible overlooked funk rocker. Put this in the extended jam slot 4. Time
