Quotefrankotero treaclefingers, I'm also impressed by your posts usually as well. But I have to say my experience is the opposite. Especially with German pressings. No way the new pressings can stand up to second hand German records from the 70s. Not even close in my opinion. And much cheaper too. same experience here, I often look specifically after old gema releases, cheaper than Uk pres

Well, JuniorJackFlash, DeeGee has a point in that I am afraid. if there's a problem with copyright infringement, the leak of an article that lays behind a paywall is not different from a song not yet released to the general public. Maybe a Stones quote come in handy here either way: it's no hanging matter, it's no capital crime

probably not easy to interview Sir Jagger but that is mostly a missed opportunity, imo Mick is not going deep in things, but he does when triggered (that is amused by the conversation). here you see him fumbling a lot trying to find something to say I mean, the guy had listened to the album and there were at least 12 news songs he could ask something about "How was Charlie?" what

Thanks for the reads Amyl (and thanks Doxa for the insight). My 2 cents: Malcolm Jack on Big Issue, a part form starting on the wrong foot crediting Keith for the main riff (but i guess after 60 years it can be an argument) reads to much in the band "don't giving a s*it" and as making a statement against the mainstream cancel culture. I wish they were, I'd say. Angry'

If I reckon correctly, Mick reminded that he's up to nothing much serious, maybe a bit "tongue in cheek" (Whole Wild World), in the very interviews after the Hackney Empire event and as the earlier leaks on the album suggested HD is about "heartbreak and broken relationships"

good and cool to read that the big guests on HD were not in for cameos or duets but to play with the band. also the story of how the Lady Gaga thing came out sounds very informal, or so they like to tell anyway good vibes hope the songs live up to About SSOH: Keith teased Mick about on the presentation, but if those are not the lyrics of a gospel(ish) tune I dont know what else could be

QuoteLorenzAgain Quotebig4 RS article on new album This is absolutely a must-read, together with the NYT piece. Fantastic story and info on how the tracks developed, can’t wait to re-read while listening to the whole thing. I’m already greedy and want them to start working on the next one. Elton John just turns out to be the cooolest, the coolest of the session men The SOH session sounds e

Quotebakersfield QuoteTIRED QuoteBFR I can’t believe how many people are scandalized by this video on a Rolling Stones fan forum The Stones are known for being overtly sexual in every way from their lyrics, to Mick’s on stage wardrobe and dance moves (to say nothing of his numerous sexual dalliances!!!), to the long line of women who have danced on stage and in their videos…everything about them

"How many people are scandalized?" very few, I would say, browsing this thread - some simply does not like so much the video, find it a bit tacky or a bit outdated, or, like myself, repetitive of something they've already done i.e. formulaic, not that creative. Those who have articulated that kind of criticism that scandalize many here, have done so politely, imo.

Quotematxil Quotemaumau I was refreshed too hearing Mick speak like that about his songwriting and the band output. I wonder, though, if there is on earth an artist that would openly confess in a PR event to write trying to guess what the majority of the audience might like The big question for me about Angry is: where is the "unmapped territory" that Mick is willing so bad to ad

So Paul played the bass in a couple of songs and one is for the next album. Did I get it right? Ronnie spilling the beans? But the best is Keith quoting We love you and Dandelion to an interviewer that probably has not the slightest idea of what he is talking about

browsing thru the comments under the Angry video on YT, I must say I am quite surprised by the enthusiastic feedback and general consensus that exceeds imo the "guys in their 70ies and 80ies" factor Me thinks it's ok, a good mosaic of the stones sound bits and, yes, it has grown on me since the first listen (but I don't count because I love them) I like the break, the p

when in 1982 I bought my first Stones album I knew that I have met something solid so solid that have and could stand the test of time, a gem. Not by chance Time is on my side was the anthem back then. The music of the band has been the soundtrack of these forty years of my life. I have been skeptical from time to time and I claim that to keep an open and critical mind is fuel for a love that

If there is ONE thing I hope for on the new Stones album, it is raunchy harp yes, suspended chords yes, and weave, horns and a touch of soul/funk --> How would you fill in the blank? <-- For me, it would be "lots of raunchy harp from Mick and suspended chords from Keith".
