Thanks Exilestones. We'll have all episodes available on a website soon. Here is a link to our previous show focussing on the great book about The Stones by Stanley Booth. Love the Stones.

Stonesmonth podcast proposes that The Stones have found their slow groove. Darryl's new sound is praised and Keith is the elephant in the room!

I feel this is a momentous day. I agree with the opening statement. It will not take from his legacy but I agree it is time to stop. We are all fans here.

Are the songs slower this tour . It feels like it . On Previous tour set lists the BPM can be seen for each song, Not anymore. Maybe it's me that's slow.

Whats with the acoustic guitar sound coming from a keyboard during satisfaction ? I don't like the fakery , the stones didn't need it before ,maybe they do now !!

All your love is the weakest song on the album imho it sounds tentative and unrehearsed and a pale imitation of magic sams original with none of his lead guitar. The rest of the album is more faithful to the original versions

I absolutely love this album, and the great guitar work of Wayne Perkins and Harvey mandel. The lead guitar in hot stuff and hand of fate I love. Harvey mandel was in canned heat I think , I am not sure about Wayne Perkins history. Perhaps someone out there can enlighten us. And how close were they to getting the gig?

Not probable at all. Keith saying we are thinking about or planning an album, is standard rock star talk in response to questions he has heard a million times. Classic bones to throw at the feet of journalists to keep the stories coming, and perhaps deflect the talk away from the real answer, boring as it may be, which is, I am a 72 year old man , home from the tour, tired, and I have no plans.

Good point turner68. Also maybe the movie was sped up as they do 24 songs in about 90 mins, no rambler and there were some short songs then, but still.

I loved The movie at the time because for us, in Australia, it was the only chance to see a "stones show". But I seem to remember some songs ,mainly towards the end , edited heavily with verses missing ?

I have grown to like it. the guitar riff is good, a bit of Ronnie slide is allways welcome , a sing along anthemic chorus works well live. For a modern era stones song it's fine.

Good luck to matt. He has been around the stones family for more than 25 years, he plays his part, whether going ahead of the band on tour preparing the choir, or playing occasional keyboards or horn on stage. Tim Reis in recent tours has played some keyboards , maybe matt has taken on some of tims role as second keyboards. I remember back in the 70's stu would play occasional keyboards with

on first listen thru an iphone speaker(how dumb am I ) I felt I was trying hard to like it, but listening to it in my car in stereo, loud, it blew me away. the drum sound I don't like, but the guitar sound up loud was filthy and buzzing back and forth across the stereo spectrum. and keiths guitar solo,i am sure it was him, was great.

I find it interesting that the solo was done for the record then not used live until 1972. I would love to have been present at the rehearsels As these decisions, as to who played what and when, is decided upon. Of course today chuck probably decides !

Maybe not, if live at Leeds is not a one off version of the song but I thought for a new single with bobby present at the show he would have done his sax solo. Still, I would allways take a taylor solo any day over a sax solo ( sorry Bobby).

Listening to and loving the new bonus live at Leeds with sticky fingers reissue I was wondering what happened to the bobby keys trademark sax solo in brown sugar. Mick taylor does a fine guitar solo but as bobby was present at the show , I believe, and this great song was the new single I was expecting bobbys freshly minted solo to be played. Just a thought.

More thoughts on spotify for stones fans everything they have released is on there even the live 1965 tracks from the Charlie is my darling box. But I feel slightly guilty paying only 10$ a month for all this , I wonder how much the bands get paid for having their whole catalogue available for a pittance ? Regardless I am listening to the new sticky fingers 3 days at least before it is offic

I am a big fan of spotify and cueing up a stones playlist today lo and behold all the new sticky tracks are on there. for my $10 a month I am rapt. The sound of the live tracks is better than ya yas I think and certainly better than the old roundhouse and leeds bootlegs

I saw Lenny here in australia in the mid 90 's, when he had the long dreadlocks. Great show but I will never forget when he did a walk thru the audience mid show and Said " if anyone touches my hair the show is over". I am still laughing about it.

I was at the show and loving cup was not a train wreck but keef seemed tentative and unsure what to play at times. The crowd while going bananas for most of the show were quieter during loving cup. However even though keef has these tentative or "senior moments " occasionally, he was on fire for most of the show and it was one of the better of the 20 or so shows I have seen. From the

i was wondering is there much audio from 1967 out there. seeing some photos recently of the bigger amps they had in 1967 i thought they might sound a bit tougher and louder over the screaming or not. but i dont know. thanks
