I’m not sure if Don Was is the one to blame, because pretty much every album after Exile has its “why didn’t they include this song in the album?” Or “why did they mix it this way?”, among other complaints. The one constant in all of those post-Exile albums is the Glimmer Twins, so I think the buck stops with them. There is something I find uninteresting about Voodoo Lounge. I like YGMR, L

RiffKichards, The Metro runs until 1am on Fridays. Barring a massive delay from the band, the concert should be over by midnight at the latest, so you should be able to make it back to the Metro by then. I live right outside of DC in Virginia, and plan on taking the Metro, but it’s probably good to have a backup leaving the concert just in case. Especially if you’re not from the area. Ho

I tend to follow tip #1, but usually limit my Stones break to a couple of weeks prior to the show. A lot of people give the band flack for the setlists, but I’ve seen them three times and all since 2013 - DC during the 50+ tour, Nashville for Zip Code and Desert Trip weekend one. Out of respect for the original poster’s request, I won’t post the setlists for those concerts, but if you were to

In some ways, the song sounds like it could have been inspired by Leon Bridges’ If It Feels Good (Then It Must Be). That would make sense to me considering he’s opened for the Stones and they seem to think highly of him - I recall an interview from a year or two ago where even Charlie mentioned Leon Bridges as an opening act that stood out to him. video:

It’s catchy...can’t wait to hear the full song. Between this song and the one with Mick on the harmonica that he posted last year, it looks like this could be an eclectic album as has been described. -Cam

For me, I think this is when being “exiled” and heavy drug use started taking its toll on the band and impacting the choices they made both musically and production-wise – especially with the mixing of the album. On one hand, you have songs like Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker), Angie, Silver Train, Hide Your Love, Winter and Starf*cker that showed that the band was still able to create good

Over the last couple of years, Beggars Banquet has become my favorite Stones album. It took awhile for Dear Doctor, Jigsaw Puzzle, Factory Girl and SOTE to “click” for me for some reason. As my musical taste has grown over the last few years, I’ve come to really love those songs. -Cam

Choosing just two is harder than I thought! I’ve heard YGTS, BTMMR, Happy, Slipping Away and Little T&A before, so I’m going to go with: Too Rude Wanna Hold You

Is whether or not an artist performing in the area around the same time a factor in them being asked to open? I’m seeing the Stones in Landover, MD on May 31, and noticed that Jack White is playing in Washington DC on the 29th. -Cam

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteDoxa I think StonedRambler is generally right about the tendency on balance of Mick vs. Keith songs since the times of STICKY FINGERS. That of Mick bringing more rather complete written songs to the table than Keith, and Keith's songs started be more like riff ideas to be developed into songs in a studio. If we take STICKY FINGERS, more or less 'pure

QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotematxil QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotematxil QuoteCamRS Thanks Doxa. You’re right, you can’t force creativity. What I interpret from that line is that there’s an extra motivation or spark to put together and album that maybe wasn’t there in the past. Similar in some ways to how Mick and Keith had that extra motivation from punk rockers and others who were telling them

QuoteDoxa QuoteCamRS After following this thread and all of the opinions and speculation that is going into the making of this album, I thought why not add more? As noted by bv, georgelicks and others, the band seems determined to make a great album. As this is probably the last statement they’ll make, I’m sure Mick and Keith are putting immense pressure on themselves to come up with great mat

I got tickets in section A1 and can’t wait for the show. This is my fourth time seeing them having seen them at Desert Trip Weekend 1, Nashville in 2015, and DC in 2013. This will be the best seats I have seen them in, unless I get lucky with my Lucky Dip tickets for the first NY/NY show. Cam

Hi all, I’ve been following this site for a little while now, and have decided to jump in and join the conversation. This thread has really helpful in helping me score tickets for the No Filter tour at a more reasonable price than what I’ve paid in the past. I was able to get tickets in Section A1 for the Landover, MD show at a price that I’m happy with (minus the fees of course), and on a
