Quotealimente QuoteHansman Some Girls is their most overrated album in my humble opinion. I almost never listen to it. I don't like most of its songs and I find the production horrible. I never understood what people find so great with that album. You had to be there at the time when SG came out to understand what this album, and the single "Miss You" meant for them. The Stones w

QuoteHonkeyTonkFlash QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteHMS If he is still able to play decent solos on some songs, why´d he fuk up SFTD everytime? The answer is - he ain´t fukin up, he plays what he WANTS to play. One more time, he´s in absolute control and HE KNOWS what he´s doing. Not EVERY single wrong note may be intended (there have always been wrong notes here and there since the very beginning)

Quotebv Quotejumpontopofmebaby HOW MUCH ARE BEERS? You are talking about the essentials in life? They took my water bottle so I had to buy new ones. Water cost $2 so I will survive. And they have tap water for refill for free. A pizza slice is $7, a small glass of wine is $11, and domestic beer I think is $10 because they gave me back 5 plus 5x1. Stella and Heineken would be $11 I think. I alwa

QuoteHMS Sticky Fingers is only disqualified by Moonlight Mile. Indeed there is no Stones-album only filled with "masterpieces". IMO, this would be rather boring. Sometimes you need one or two so-so-songs to make the rest shine really bright. The only "masterpieces" I can hear on SG are Beast Of Burden & Some Girls. All the rest is just so-so, mostly quite enjoyabl

Thanks! WOAF sounds great. Much better than some of their concert staples. God knows why they don't play it more often.

Quotesaltoftheearth Factory girl and Salt of the earth are masterpieces because the lyrics represent the mood of the late 1960s perfectly. LOL. Because a lyric represents the mood/vibe of a part of a decade it makes a song a masterpiece? How interesting. Apart from the fact that I have never heard anyone but you saying that these songs are masterpieces (I like them both, don't get m

All that talking about that they need a few shows so they can warm up and the juices can flow and such is complete bullshit to me. With ticket prices that high nowadays you better deliver right from the first show of a tour. I don't pay a shitload of money for a band that isn't warmed-up and needs some more shows so they can properly put on a decent show. Warm up my ass. I don't ha

I can't think of any album by any artist where I don't have the feeling that at least one song is skip-worthy or a least I think that one song is weaker than the rest. Masterpiece is a big word, you know.

QuoteBILLPERKS Nothing wrong with CT , just kinda pointless. Very much. Even more when the drummer doesn't play the signature drum pattern the song is famous for but prefers to play some dragging beat throughout the entire song. Don't get me wrong, I welcome the idea that they tried something else from the usual setlist suspects, but then you should do it right. This version wasn&#

Thanks for all the YouTube links. Much appreciated. My honest impression: I watched most of them now and I must say that the Stones sound really really bad on most songs. It reminded me a lot of some of the ABB shows I have seen which were mostly terrible. Keith really has lost all his chops by now. You can't call that guitar playing anymore. It's a joke really. Same with Ronnie. Tha

QuoteHonkeyTonkFlash She's The Boss contained competent pop-rock but it sorely missed the X-factor that happens when guys like Charlie Watts and Keith Richards are creating the grooves behind you; not to mention a bassist like Bill Wyman. That X-factor is a huge part of the Stones success. It's hard to find words to describe or define it but you know it when you hear it. On Mick'

I like it. One of the greatest Stones songs IMO. Too bad that they ignored it for decades and when they discovered it again the forgot how to play it. It never sounded right when they tried it, unfortunately. Happens with a couple of other songs, too.

I always had the feeling that sometime in the late 80s/early 90s Keith became very aware of his image in the public eye. Thats when Keith became Keef. Before that time he was naturally cool, but somehow during the 90s he became more and more a caricature of himself, up to a point where it is ridiculous sometimes. He has lost a lot of his natural charisma for me. He knows what kind of personality

Of course they would have replaced him. Steve Jordan and Jim Keltner are obvious choices, though I don't think that Keltner would do it. Charlie isn't that good as a drummer (anymore). Don't get me wrong, I love the guy and I don't want any other drummer in the Stones, but he is easily replaceable. I think the reason why he is so popular amongst the fans is because of his p
