Quotebitusa2012 I agree. These are beautiful records from a band at the top of their game. Lovely music, superb, simple, airy production. Great tunes. Wonderful singing and lyrics. What’s not to love? And, for me, the ONLY two Dead records I actually have and like. I dislike everything else I’ve ever heard from them. But then, I don’t go out of my way to hear anything else nowadays. Back in the 7

Not usually moved by Jack but loved both of his SNL performances. Reminded me of Jimi's Band of Gypsies...only on steroids. A vast improvement over the torpid schlock that passes for music on SNL these days.

QuoteTheGreek So this case still isn't settled ? I thought that guy Randy something was going to get some money ? Or did the earlier ruling go in favor of Mr. Page ? Randy California, from the band Spirit, also died in 1997.

Yes i have. Montreal, July17,1972 and not again until Toronto 2, June 2013 where he played on both Midight Rambler AND Can't you Hear me Knocking. Also got to see him at the McGill University union ballroom (Montreal) in Oct. 1968 as a Bluesbreaker with John Mayall. It was a sparsely attended show and i was able to stand directly in front of him for the entire performance. Wish i could tell

QuoteHairball Quotenorthof49 QuoteHairball Hadn't heard this version before - very nice - has that sitting on a stool, folk club feel to it. Yeah, personally I think it's better than the official released Oh Mercy version. There's yet another version on Tell Tale Signs Deluxe that's even starker and mellower, and prob my favorite, yet can't find video on youtube to

QuoteStoneage I'm more of a Ernie Watts fan. He had a free flow and connected very well with the band. Added another dimension. I have nothing against Bobby Keys but he kind of did his spots and then was out. Not much improvising there. On the other hand he didn't encroach on the two guitarists. I understand he was a good friend with Keith so...there you go. Couldn't agree mo

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Blah, blah, blah. You techno-nerds sure know how to suck the life out of what is a pretty good Stones song. By the time you get to page 100 of this thread all you'll be hearing are 0's and 1's. You really need to get a hobby other than hanging around here, virus or no. Wake up and smell the #%&*%#

Thanks for posting George. Just saw this clip on Jimmy Fallon (american late-nite talk show host) and after the video ended Jimmy said "and thanks to Mick and Matt for this". Mick definitely seems to be putting himself 'out there' lately.

Quotelatebloomer I'm betting it's Salt of the Earth with some lyric changes in support of health care workers. I hope you are right Late Bloomer. Probably the most appropriate Stones song for the occasion..."say a prayer for the common foot soldier". However, Charlie's set-up doesn't look up to the task.

QuoteKingmanBarstow Q 19 #5 and Q 20 #4 and #6 had me stumped. Without asking Siri which I didn’t. But Siri would not have a clue anyway. Re: Q20 # 4. I spent some time in Montreal and I believe the correct answer should be the Maurice Richard Arena. It's about a 5000 seat hockey rink, not what you'd call a stadium.
