I think "special guest" is a standard promotional term for openers. I've heard that term used since I started going to shows in 1981. Er, at least I think I have. That's what I'm telling myself.

Raleigh was from a FB post from the band. Someone else posted in the Pittsburgh thread that there was a FB post from the band about Awolnation, but I don't see that post when I look at the band's FB page (I do see the Raleigh one).

Quoteerikjjf The Temperance Movement will open in Orlando. Oh, man, I'd probably trade them for the Avetts, though I like both. Looks like pretty good quality so far.

Looks like the "will there or won't there be openers?" question is answered. The Stones just posted on Facebook that The Avett Brothers will open in Raleigh. I'm pretty happy about that choice if there has to be an opener, but I hope The Stones won't be subject to a hard 11:00 PM curfew. Someone else just posted that Pittsburgh will have Awolnation as openers. Any o

Quoteonlystones This may be in the wrong thread, but I'll try here first. I just lost my wallet. I have Lucky Dips for Atlanta and now my credit card number will be different. Will I still be able to get the LDs. Any knowledge, experience or helpful hints would be greatly appreciated. This happens all the time. Call Ticketmaster and they will take care of it (call them after you

The Stones didn't play it at either of the shows I've attended, but Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit do a pretty nice job of it live. It is a favorite of mine for sure.

I was watching some show with my mom when I was 7 or 8, and they showed the promo video for It's Only Rock n' Roll. I was already listening to Zeppelin, Hendrix, and The Beatles at this age, but this was my first conscious awareness of The Stones. I remember my mom saying she did not like them, and I remember loving the sound as well as the attitude of the band, but I was also a little

My primary motivation for buying post '85 Stones output has been associated with going to shows. I've only seen them twice. I was about a year too young and 90 minutes too far away to see them in Hampton in '81, though a couple of my older friends went. When they announced the tour in '89, of course I bought Steel Wheels. I liked a decent amount of it, but I didn't think

Hmmm... I just checked, and they have taken down the "Buy on map" function for Raleigh. I wonder if that was driving too many exchange requests so they decided to move it back to "best available." It's still possible to find out if better seats are available, but it's a little harder to be selective without full visibility.

I decided to keep trying before I saw y'all's posts. 2nd rep said "I don't see any restrictions that say we can't." Moved from Sec 22 row Q to row E. We like being a little elevated as we're height challenged :-). Thanks to all keeping folks posted on drops! There are still lots of great seats that have gone from VIP to $350. And still good $250s in sections 5 a

Ugh! I tired to exchange, and they told me they couldn't do it because I had presale tickets. Anyone else get this message? I'm pretty happy with our seats anyway (Sec 22, row Q), but this would have been a pretty sweet upgrade. Good luck, everyone.

Considering upgrading, but I am uncertain about sight lines from 15th row floor. OK, I know that sounds weird, but I have little experience with floor in stadiums. I've done 15th (and 1st and 20th, etc.) row in arenas before with no problem, but the scale in stadiums is so different. I know the stages are higher. My group of 4 ranges in height from 5'2" to 5'9". We did ma

I assume a lot of these shows will be subject to 11:00 PM noise ordinances (unless promoters and Stones threw some weight around, which is conceivable). Usually The Stones allow their openers a good hour long set, so with turn around time, that means maybe 90 minutes for The Stones with openers, so I suspect we won't have them. Hoping for a return to 2 1/2 hour sets by the Stones, with 23 -

Quotemistermorphine So a stupid ? here. Why not just do the print at home option when you buy your ticket? It is not like it is going to be some ultra rare item in 25 years, there will after all be 1,000,000 plus of them. Just asking what the reason is? Thanks and enjoy the show! I've always viewed my ticket stubs as great mementos of shows, and an 8 1/2 x 11 PDF print out doesn't do

Pretty sure Baltimore (and the entire state of Maryland) is actually below the Mason Dixon, isn't it? Anyway, it is a great town and I hope the troubles will end there soon.

keefed, you'll be fine in all of those cities, all of which are actually nice. Like any city, each has its bad parts, but it's not difficult to avoid those.

I think the lyrics to "Little Room" by The White Stripes sum it up pretty well: "Well you're in your little room and you're working on something good but if it's really good you're gonna need a bigger room and when you're in the bigger room you might not know what to do you might have to think of how you got started sitting in your little

Hey, you might consider calling TM and explaining that you bought more than you need. I did, and they surprised the hell out of me by agreeing to refund all but the fees. I took their offer, because they don't often do this, and I think people are having a tough time selling on eBay even at cost. I'd rather get $350 for my $385 tix than $200. This was for Raleigh, by the way.

I think those $250 in rows A and B, sections 5 and 21 are the absolute best deal in the venue. So far, anyway. All a matter of personal preference. Happy for you!

I know of only one place reasonably close to the Stadium - Backyard Bistro. I mean, it's not like bar food is high end cuisine, but as bar food goes, I don't recall that place being the best. I suspect it will be slammed. I don't know what bus service is like between downtown and the stadium, but I bet someone at the Hampton could help (or do a little research on Google). Getting a

I think hotel suggestions depend on multiple factors, including whether you're looking to explore the area before or after, whether you're looking for "night life" (I'm not sure what that is - I call it live music of which we have PLENTY, but there are bars, restaurants, etc.), and how much you're looking to spend. The stadium is not walking distance from much of any

Sober Paul is fantastic, though a very different live performance. As entertaining as the old Mats shows were, hate to hear that Paul might really be relapsing.

That is Kurt on 2nd guitar. I didn't start listening to YFF until around 2000, so I've never seen them live. I have caught Scott live in several of his other projects, though. Anyhow, here's hoping for more Mats dates since it sounds like Tommy is off Axl's payroll.

Tommy was definitely under contract with Axl and unable to play with anyone else back in the early 2000s at least, and I don't fault Tommy for that. Glad to see him back playing with The Mats, and I hope they add some more dates. crholmstrom, did you enjoy The Young Fresh Fellows as openers? Paul's favorite band!

Quoteoldfan Got 3 tix in Sec E row 2. Have the seat numbers but have no idea if the seats are toward center stage or the end of the stage. Does anybody know how the numbering goes? Seating chart shows seat # 1 on floor sections is always toward center stage. The chart does not show which end of each row is seat # 1 on non-floor seats which is what I am trying to figure out. Initial pulls for Raleigh were unacceptable to me (section 19). After several tries, pulled section 4, row T and pulled the trigger, only to realize that even though I thought I had bought 4 tix, I bought 3. Had to do another buy, and got section 22 (1st lower level by stage, Ronnie's side) row Q. Good enough for me. What is my meandering point? Keep trying. Seats got better as time passe
