The only price you pay is you have to be patient, inventive and polite. It's a high price for some people. But it actually works.

At the time Mick Taylor joined, he didn't have enough (especially being a long time with the same band). It's probably that

Thanks Gazza. I have some time to write more. According to Kris Needs once again, the Dirty Strangers were pushed by Keith. He took their demos (recorded at IBC) to Paris and the DS got a couple of gigs that way. He was also the one to tell the DS to re-record 6 songs which Alan had played him, he played on them, brought Ronnie in and Keith even paid for the studio time. Other Stones-related D

It seems the first sessions (just Mick & Keith) were in June 2004 - probably at Mick's as there were rumors around that time that the Stones were recording in Paris. I believe that Ron recorded his parts from his own studios in Ireland and London - as he mentionned that his studio was compatible with Mick's in an interview (i.e. he is using Pro Tools & Digidelivery).

I would invite Keith - I owe him a dinner. And at least I know what to cook for him: shepherd's pie and HP sauce. However I would love to talk about politics with Mick.

Due to the poor reaction from fans to their charity gift, the Rolling Stones have decided to collect a 15% charity charge which attendance will have to pay at the entry gates before shows. Please get your cash ready before entrance.

It would be a waste to convert these files to MP3 - convert them back to wave using flac decoder (http://flac.sourceforge.net/) or Then burn the waves onto a CD and you will have no loss from the original. After that you can do MP3 from that CD or the FLAC but you will at least have a better copy. If you convert them straight to MP3 you will have a second, different, destructive compressio

There's a secret message in there - Merle does speak of white lightnin'... Anyway, these days he's really in sync with Keith - I've gotta get drunk, Swingin' Doors... Really Keith-ian songs ;-)

It's easier not to overproduce a record when you keep the track number low. They haven't got tens of tracks to mix on ABB - a few guitar tracks, the usual drum tracks, a few vox tracks, the bass track. Sometimes a piano or a harp... You don't really have to worry that the guitar solo will be lost when the horns come in. However I do think that a lot of work was needed to achieve

It's weird to read that kind of comments about A Bigger Bang - when it was first reported that they were going direct-to-disk, using Pro Tools and recording digital, people screamed that it would be a lifeless record, sounding too cold. From what Ronnie said and other reports, I gather that they even used Digidelivery to deliver the tracks to Ronnie's studios in Ireland and London an

Marhsall - you're right - he even mentionned it himself, something like "only when they can't write songs good enough I get in". Probably Ronnie is more clever at this than Bill and Mick Taylor - probably less shy, less grumpy about it and persistent. Isn't that what he said in "According to..." ? That he always has to follow and insist to make sure his name

It seems people who were actually at the show weren't all that disappointed... As for the set list : I don't think this tour's set lists will top the Licks tour's. I do hope I'm wrong. Also do not forget that this is only a warm up show, only 14 songs - the Boston shows will give a much better idea of this tour's set lists. We probably shouldn't worry a

I don't think the hotel is better now - but if you go there and don't expect it to be the Four Seasons, only use the hotel for sleep and showers, it seems ok if I trust the reviews. They all say that the situation is very good.

That's really a shame as I liked this shop a lot - almost bought one of Rich Robinson's Les Paul Jr from them, and I like the 5-string skull disk front they have. However, I was not going to buy this LP anyway - $400 000 is way too much ! I can understand a Zemaitis weighting $100 000, but not a Gibson, even if Keith, Brian, Mick Taylor, Jesus and Mathijs have played it ;-)

Thru And Thru I didn't really like (I mean sometimes I was in the mood for it) until the show at Bercy, Paris - it was really moving to see this song performed live, especially as one of Keith's daughters was standing in front of the stage, in the gap between the audience and the stage, staring at her father and mouthing the words - she looked at Keith the way a child looks at her fathe

DUESENBERG Ronnie Wood Signature model - that's what the yellow guitar is. As for the black one, I would say it's the Zemaitis Disc Front engraved by O'Brien. Rich Robinson from the Black Crowes was selling his for $95,000 at maverick-music.com.

Gazza, that's tough ! I travelled with Ryan Air and I arrived on time for those shows in Dublin in 2003 Anyway, enjoy the show, both of you - I really hope you get some kind of special guests - I don't think Keith is in Paris, and I don't think he would fly back to the US as he is expected in France on monday. So who knows ? Hoping the best for you.

I agree - I really love this album. Izzy, the great Black Crowes from Southern... and Keith's Main Offender were all touring Europe around december'92 - and I missed all these three shows (too young, no car, no driving licence...). I still regret this. I have the bootleg from Izzy's Paris show and it just makes me sad every time I listen to it - especially as Izzy's other reco
