QuoteGravityBoy This is just one of the greatest moments in rock. Truly magnificent. Hat's off to the girl for going along with the ride. "Here come the devil" and right on cue up pops an angel of light. Jeeze... shiver time. I watched the set last night. Totally amazing. Mumford & whatever must have seemed pretty pasty after that!

@ 66, Iggy still puts many a young rocker to shame energy level wise. I'm glad he's taking care of himself.

I was lucky enough to meet Keith & Bobby Keyes on the Main Offender tour. It was a record label post show meet & greet. Got to talk to Bobby for awhile. He was very funny. Then the big moment came. I'm very low key & there were some pushy folks there. I was wearing a dress shirt with skulls on it & full Keith gear. He looked at me & said "hey,my man!" & shoo

I'd have to say McCartney but it's close. Paul was (is) very underrated. Really became more appearant on the last reissues. My personal favorite is Flea. That guy can play anything. John Sirratt from Wilco is very good too.

Quoteodean73 I must admit its the first time i have seen anything of him. He looks a complete nutter, but enjoyed watching him. What cds would anybody recommend. Best of might be a good place to start. If you want to go deeper, these 5, in no particular order: The Good Son Let Love In Murder Ballads Push the Sky Away Live Seeds Both Grinderman cds are excellent too! Enjoy your journ

QuoteSilver Dagger Primal Scream were brilliant and delivered a perfect set for Glastonbury blending in their modern rock anthems such as Rocks as well as opening with the stunning opener, 2013, to their fantastic new album. They went down really well and served as a great support band to the Stones. I really like the new cd too. Just came out in the states. Really interesting people playing on i

Oops. Got the wrong year! Thanks for putting up this year's gig. What happens when you surf during the vampire/insomniac hours.

I saw Nick Cave recently (& several times before). It was amazing. He was reenergized. Think the Grinderman interlude was a good thing. & adding Ed Kuepper as the noisy guitar player was a good move. Loudest show I've seen in awhile.

Quotekeefriff99 QuoteThe Sicilian This is what makes this band brilliant. Out of nowhere they pull out 2000LYFH! It doesn't matter if the vocals were off, it sounded great. They almost played it to the second of the 4:45 length of the original album release. However, I did like the extended version from 1989, but this was just brilliant. That is how the Stones take command of the stage

They sure look "on" at this gig. They've only played in Seattle once (around Screamadelica) & it was an amazing show. Got to know Andrew Innes a little & he's a good guy. Glad to see he's looking healthier now than he was a few years ago.

Watching Primal Scream's set on Youtube. Totally excellent. They set the bar high for the Stones. Since they are huge Stones fans, I'm sure they were thrilled to be playing before them. Check out their new cd, best one in awhile. Here's the link to the set. Worth the time to watch! PS: Kevin Shields from My Bloody Valentine is adding to the mayhem on guitar!

I may be wrong but I think ABKO/Klein owns the publishing too. That would be another complicating factor.

Nice post. I kind of feel the same about the Vegas show this tour. Was my 18th or 19th show since 1978. It wasn't the best but far from the worst. A solid B. I don't see it going anywhere but downhill from here, given the appearant dynamics in play. If they do more dates in the fall (Seattle or Vancouver), I'll go but I don't see myself doing anymore big budget trips. I think

Kind of obvious its not, at least when "special" guests involved. Someone brought up earlier in the thread Katy Perry in LV. They had to rehearse during the afternoon. No way she was doing Beast of Burden totally cold. It was actually surprisingly good. Although, judging by the results, Gwen Stefani might not have practised Wild Horses with them. Haha.

Some Girls was the push over the cliff for me with the Stones. I liked them before but this started the lifelong obsession. First time live was in Boulder, CO that tour (2 days before the dvd was filmed in Texas). They were stunning. That show is still one of the top shows I've seen all time. The record has held up well over time & the outtakes disc is excellent too. Tattoo You was a goo

When I saw the Stones @ the Joint on the 40 Licks tour, Worried About You was 1 of the best songs of the show. Ronnie shined on the guitar solo.

Thanks for the info. Fond memories of that show. My first concert was Elton John the previous year. When I went to the Stones in Vegas last month, I caught Elton @ Caesar's the night before. It was enjoyable & pretty good (& cost about 10% of what the Stones ticket cost. haha.). Elton still has 3 guys from the glory days in the band. I'm thinking I may go down to Safeco Field th

I liked the 2 new songs at the show I saw. Both were certainly better than Don't Stop or , God help us, Streets of Love. Initially I liked D & G more but OMS has grown on me. Both make me wish they'd do a new album. The only song I wish they'd drop is Emotional Rescue. Just personal preference, as I've never liked that song. The novelty has worn off. To each his own though

Some Girls was my first tour (age 17). It was life changing. I really enjoyed several shows on the 40 Licks tour. Sticky Fingers night @ MGM Grand was amazing. & I saw them @ the Hard Rock the night before. That was a great weekend.
