QuoteGumbootCloggeroo If you've had experience being in a band then maybe you'd understand the situation a little better, that's all I'm trying to get at. I'm not here to fight you. Relax. I have, from '90-'97. And I agree with MKC--even with Keef's ageing, arthritis and head stuff, he can still belt out a blistering 4-minute JJF, as can the band. Obvio

QuoteMax'sKansasCity It is NOT that hard to play two freeking simple songs! wtf? Especially if they have VERY talented back up players to help out... Exactly! JJF for him, even with arthritis and a head injury, is a lock. The dude can't, and hasn't played it badly, even in the midst of the second leg of the last tour, where he was "off and on". Same goes for SMU,

QuoteMathijs Do you really believe Jagger would play on SNL for a live audience of millions with Richards in his current state? Mathijs No doubt Keith is way rusty/out of practice etc, and a whole concert is out of the question for now. But the dude can belt out a good version of JJF in his sleep, even with those bent up fingers of his. Same goes for SMU. It's just not that big a chall

QuoteRollingFreak I think its gonna be difficult to get past the fact that these are kiddie songs. There's a fascinating history behind "This Land is Your Land". It might have turned into a "kiddie song", but it was originally written as a direct response to Irving Berlin's "God Bless America", which Guthrie thought was "unrealistic and complacent&q

Quotememphiscats Looks like the Grapes of Wrath to me - EXCELLENT SONG & VIDEO. Am I the only one who heard strains of "Venus" in this version? Rock on Neil & Crazy Horse! Nope! But Neil just took a 1963 arrangement of Oh Susanna and ran with it. Do a youtube search for "Jerry Ross", "Banjo Song", it's there. From Wikipedia: The song's mus

Quotebatcave Mick has been a guest on Howard's show so I really doubt he was all that bothered by Howard's antics. He knows what Howard's about so he just went along with it. Some of you are reading way too much into it or projecting your own feelings onto Mick.... Totally agree. I'd be really surprised if they didn't talk about it before the taping. I admit he (Ste

Quotestupidguy2 And he used to have two pitbulls named Bianca and Jade. Haha, that's right, named "Bianca Romijn Stamos". I think it was an English Bulldog though.

Wow. Howard's voice isn't horrible, but that is bound to be interesting, and not necessarily in a good way. He always was a big fan though, I remember him reporting excitedly on the concert he went to in I think '05.

QuoteLong John Stoner Miss You and Start Me Up are supposed to get me excited. No, they are not. They are, on the other hand, songs which not only resonate with the public, but which they (even keith with his supposedly trashed hands and head) can play in their sleep. That said, if they do it, I don't think they'll phone it in.

QuoteBig Al Keith's vocal ability is worsening to my ears, but he's always possessed better vocal ability to Ronnie and always will. Ronnie just sounds pissed. Wow, I've been consistently amazed at how much better Keith has gotten over the last ten years. OK, I get that his mannerisms can be annoying/overdone at times, and his '80s/90's singing was pretty rough, but us
