Quotelem motlow It still amazes me how fckd up the band and the audiences were on that tour, I’m not sure how we lived through it to be honest. The abbreviated sets were designed to be a short, fast almost punk style show that featured alot of Some Girls. No MR,YCAGWYW,GS etc.it didn’t lend itself to a long show with a bunch of songs. Good thing ,I doubt any of us could’ve remained upright for

Stones content in short (if you don’t have time for the whole thing): he liked the early stones records, he saw them in 65 and 69 - you gotta love his fresh first hand accounts - Jagger was one of his influences, he believes that the 69 Jagger was somehow influenced also by Tina! Great interview! Part one Part two C

Have been listening to a lot of "recent" (VL + B2B + Lost Licks) outtakes recently. Most of the songs that didn't make the final set published on the album have at least one equivalent song in style that was published. Which one is better or worse is a matter of taste, but this is not the point. What strikes me is how many songs they have cut that are far away form the stere

QuoteDandelionPowderman QuoteStonesfan2146 I personally love the 1994 version with all the different horn sections added. Way better than 2002 imo. Of course the 1976 versions are awesome too. The playing is good, and the horns are cool, but I don't like that they omitted the verses. Tank you, completely missed this one. Love it. One of the very few occasions in which they trie

I read somewhere that Italy (where I live) was supposed to be the first. Nothing to really get excited, the market is going there anywhere. Just wonder what kind of device will Bill Wyman have to invent this time to fit an e-cig on his bass' headstock Personally, I don't smoke, never did, but smoke - as it is currently regulated (no in public closed environments, yes in

QuoteRocky Dijon Matt already has production credits on FOUR NEW LICKS (3 tracks), A BIGGER BANG (2 tracks), "Doom and Gloom," and "Living in a Ghost Town." It is expected. Much of what Mick has done this century in the studio is in partnership with Matt. Which are all pretty good tracks on my book! Matt is a talent. The only time I could have done without his contributi

Quoteironbelly This is rather complex problem. One can not answer it in simple and short words. Decca - London period CDs were issued and re-issued multiple times in different countries and by different companies. For example, CD The Rolling Stones - The Rolling Stones was re-issued/re-pressed in Germany between 1984 and 1994 at least 20 times (if you only consider combination booklet-back cove

I am trying to put some order in my music with the help of Discogs, but I find it extremely hard to identify what I have, especially the early Decca cds. I am not a collector, I simply bought whatever I found from time to time at normal music stores (when we still had them). Mainly here in Milan where I live, but also around the world when on vacation. In the early days, CDs were quite expensi
