QuoteIrix Looks like the same as the Japanese 2017 re-release, but w/o the SD-BR/DVD - , . Now Color-Vinyl instead. Guess so. Audio on CDs should be the same. Audio on vinyl - might be a bit tweaked, but the source will be the same. It would be a nice toy for those who missed Japanese WARD release. Anyway, there were on LPs. But otherwise - money grabbing .

Currently for EU customers the cheapest option for the edition that will be sold around the globe (excluding Japan) are from FNAC France and amazon France - 27.99€. Keep in mind that this edition might come without (or with shortened version of) Japanese booklet. Guess, this factor is not important to those who do not 'collect stamps'. The same version (barcode 0018771215622) sho

QuoteIrix Quotetreaclefingers is it an improvement over the 2002 SACD release Probably not really, since this 2023 re-release is a normal Audio-CD (PCM 44.1kHz/16bit) while the 2002 SACD is based on the DSD format (2.8MHz/1bit). But maybe some newer masterings by Bob Ludwig were used? All recent releases are based on DSD tape transfer. But they were converted and downsampled to regular

QuoteRank Stranger So is this a ( sort of ) companion to the 2022 release of "Hot Rocks" UICY 79767 discussed in the "Happy" fanzine here: Yes. This is another 50th Anniversary re-issue. It might be considered as a complementary to that Hot Rocks 1964-1971 . And also loosely connected to 50th Anniversary re-issues of Big Hits (High Tide And Green Grass) UK and Through T

Maybe another variant (with catalog number containing letter K) will appeared soon for the rest of the world. They did it for Hot Rocks and for SHM-CDs from In Mono box in 2022. That one (with K) might be cheaper for EU customers considering elim

QuoteProfessorWolf wow that is fascinating thank you for sharing can you find there review of undercover? i'd be curious to hear they made of that album as well I am not sure there was a review on Undercover. Mind, the ideological system in the USSR was not The Rolling Stones friendly. In the best case scenario there was one or two short papers or notes a year. Generally, those we

This is a review from July 1986. It is from a popular journal for young communists in the USSR. The name of the journal was 'Rovesnik', i.e., something like 'Peer' or 'Same age'. Usually it provided tons of critics about Western life style, was strongly pro-international and revolutionary. However, Dirty Work got almost a positive review. It is stated that the

So I can just go with the 2014 editions, which are a little cheaper (not by much mind you!) and most likely easier to come by, to go along with my wonderful Virgin versions. Ugh. QuoteDorn Quotetreaclefingers I believe you are correct. The 2002 was a 'hybrid' release meaning it had two layers and you could play it on a regular CD - because SACD wasn't a large market - was great because you could always 'update' later. when i copy those 2002 ABKCO SACD onto my PC, let´s say with windows media player, would teh CD layer be copied or the SACD one

All post-1971 catalog up to Dirty Work was issued as SACD. And all were flat transfers from original master tapes. Here is the list. But those discs were sold in Japan only.
