Not terrible but there are much better 81 shows on bootleg. The Hampton PPV is an excellent show. You get pre show backstage video and part of George Thorogoods opening act set. Makes you feel like you were there....Now that should have been the offical tour video

Doxa wrote: "I think the band is safe enough to be caught live in form of souvenir DVD any night." Based on the train wreck BBT performances I attended and watched on bootleg video there is nothing "safe" about most of the bands performances these days. On this last tour more often then not Keef's, and to a lesser extent Ronnie's, playing was beyond bad to the

Quotemtaylor Mick is too conservative in somme matters. They should have been much more progessive in their way using their music, brand and position. Unfortunately they let bands like U2 take over - that's why groups like U2 are more popular than Stones. Don't think you are comparing apples to apples in this case. You also have to realize that U2 is 20 years younger than the Ston

IMHO the BTB tour was the last where Kef and Ronnie were on just about every night. Their playing has gone down every tour since then..........

Quoteletitloose You are missing the point. People will buy it. Its a momento of the gig you were at. People are suckers for that kind of thing. Totally different from a generic live album. Alice Cooper was selling the USB sticks straight after the show we saw in Glasgow. Technology has caught up with The Stones. I just can't see Mick missing out on the income stream next time round. The violence at Altamont was a tragedy for sure but I would be interested in seeing the complete pro shot video of the concert as I think it was a very good performance and for me the MSG shows were the best of the 69 tour.......

This has been debated for years. With all due respect if this was going to happen don't you think it would have already??!! The Stones probably have tons of live audio and video in the vault yet they continue to release the same mediocre overdubbed live albums for every tour. But Sir Mick will never allow the raw soundboards to be released as long as he is alive. He wants every recording

Totally agree with you Gazza sadly the band has turned into the "Vegas Stones" for me but I think the band, and the promoter, are in for a rude awakening if they do another greatest hits tour. Once the initial excitment and rush for tickets is over I think we will see more and more empty seats in venues as the tour progresses unless the promoters get smart and either price the ticket

' Just my opinion but it is because the average fan can't afford to pay $150-300 for a ticket for mediocre seats to see the Stones and the hard core fan who really cares about the music are starting to stop goin

LSTNT wrote I agree, I was also at those 4 Boston shows. I think the main problem with us hardcore fans is that we all want the odd nugget played but the fact is outside of playing a theatre they do not go over that well in an arena never mind a stadium. I recall that the 1st time them played Sway in Columbus they crowd didn't react at all. I do think that the boys love to play, but they

Notice his 2009 "tour" wasn't much of one - he did, what, 8 shows or something? But the shows he did do were usually 2 and a half hours with 30+ songs and awesome performances. The classic notion of quality over quantity. I

QuoteLoudei B.B King still plays, Bob Dylan and all their heroes played to the end... John Lee Hooker, Muddy, .... Sir Paul is kicking ass as well... so who are we to tell them or suggest what the hell they should do with their lives? Yes but you are missing some very important points. BB King is more a novelty act these days and plays little more than an hour. And at the last show I attend

"Just trying to defend the boys my friend. looking back the Stones were in their late 40s when the press first said that. Not old at all." Agree with you that back in 89 it was just the fickle press trying to be cool but that was 20 years ago and they are all well into their 60's now so I think the joke is much closer to the truth now considering Keef's and Ronnie's c

QuoteLSTNT I might suggest that Mick is a realist and he's dealing with the fact that he has two drunks as guitar players and he doing the best with the cards he's been dealt. Face the facts Keith has been an embarrassment for years, and Ronnie's main skill's these days is waving to the audience. It's been Mick & Charlie holding this ark together for a long time.

I agree with you it is a very good performance. Th band was cooking that night and the atmosphere and tension added an edge to the show....Believe me I am not an advocate for violence in any form but it is a reality of life unfortunately. I for one would not let that discourage me from enjoying the Altamont show but that is just me...others may find it too disturbing to watch. In any case I doubt

QuoteEleanor Rigby even though all of this is intruiging, I wonder if it would make you want to continually watch all this footage, and whether it would give you a different opinion of the whole Altamont/Stones performance..? Personally I think the Stones performance is very good once you get past the chaos at the beginning of the set. I would love to have the complete concert released. If

The Stones did play theatre's on the 40 Licks "TOAST" tour as they played the 2000 seat Boston Orpheum theatre and several other small theatre's but I agree I think the next tour could be a train wreck as the skills are diminishing and if they try to charge the same prices or higher than they did for the BBT they are going to have a lot of empty seats here in the U.S. with the
