I am sure that most people in the world have a deep respect for the Pope, and when they post something meaningful or meaningless about the Pope these days, it is because they just want to express their feelings. No harm, no offence. If nobody cared then I would be worried.

Many Stones connections with the Pope I think... I hope they play Rome on the next tour. That would be great. They did Milan after a long time, so they are getting closer to Rome now... And didn't the Pope do an appearance in Toronto some time before the Stones, at the same or a similar site, and to a large or larger crowd? I am thinking about SarsStock.

The Boston city licensing board is having their meeting regarding two shows at Fenway in August today. See details and make your vote here: Should they be allowed to play at Fenway? Mayor Tom Menino says he is a strong supporter of the concerts, but some Fenway activists have complained about the noise and crowds. More about shows: They will play San Francisco this fall as well, acco

This is simply a business trend. Every major tour is moving into this. The Stones tried it out in 1998 in Portland, Houston and MSG, then Stockholm Globen and Prague. Then full scale No Security 1999. People in the U.S. need all seated venues, and they are willing to pay more. In the U.S. you get more or less the same money from playing an arena with 20,000 people as a stadium of 50,000 people pa

Arena shows in USA, missing stadiums in South America, and spending time on club shows and arenas across the world. We love the smaller shows, but you know every time they book a day on a club or an arena, there will be 40,000 people locked out from that show date, vs. if it was a stadium show. But I would much rather have the one week in a city with club, arena, stadium one more time. Stockholm.

The U2 world tour started just two days ago so it is a hot topic right now. I don't expect many U2 posts here over time.

Life is about learning. If you go to one Stones show only per tour, and no other bands, then yo are an amateur show wise. You will probably sit or stand way back in the crowd, you will pay extra for tickets, and you will worry for weeks and months how to get tickets once they show up for sale. And you will not know the venue, how it works, where it is easiest to get a good view and so on. If y

Many places are the same ones as with the Stones. Arenas in USA, also some in UK, mostly stadiums in Europe. For crowd capacity see: RS Tour 2002: Rs Tour 2003: Most arenas are 15,000 +/- 3,000. Most stadiums are 50,000 +/- 15,000. U2 ticket prices are only 50% of Stones ticket prices, so it is not a real comparison. Like oranges vs. potatoes.

I just checked out the U2 tour which started in San Diego last night. It turns out you have to be a member of U2.com in order to see thgeir tour dates. This is very different as compared to RS.com on the last tour. I think it is fair that you have to pay in order to get access to reserved parts of a commercial web site, like U2.com and RS.com, but accurate and complete tour dates are public infor

Ballads? Flip The Switch? Out Of Control? Are we talking about the same band? PS. Why on earth would you take your kids to a Stones show? I mean one time is ok, to show them why you spend all that time on a legendary band. But again and again? Would you go to a rap show with your kids, again and again, or to a boyband show, again and again, and say this is getting better and better?

The new Wembley Stadium is opening May 2006, in time for the FA Cup final. It is the natural place for the Stones, having played it to sell-out crowds of 72,000 people 12 times.

It must be hard to run a band when half of the members are missing, and also when they haven't really done much during the past 30 or so years. My favorite is "Who's Next" but that must be 1971 or something.

About Ronnie Wood art: This is San Francisco Art Exchange, the best place to see and get hold of his art. They have been exhibiting Ronnie's art permanently for many years. I don't think people spend 3 million dollars on crap. At least it is not crap for those who buy his art. About art in general: Some may even think Andy Warhol art is crap, but I have to admit if I got rich

It is taken by Kevin Mazur, official photographer of the Stones. He is one of the best photographers in the world. I got these photos in November last year, approx 10 different ones, and they are all outstanding quality. Most with Mick and Keith, some also with Charlie.

I guess some think "Mona Lisa" is crap as well. Some people including myself do even think Carlsberg is crap. It is all about taste. I think Ronnie's art is great.

Well I saw the same performance by Mick Taylor at 100 Club, and could not help but think how great the RS version was with Ronnie, Keith, Bobby & Mick I had just heard in the same city just before that was so much more "alive". I did actually miss it, even if I do also love it every time Mick T plays "Knoking" on his own shows. Mick Taylor plays the blues, always did, alwa

I don't spend much on merchandise these days but I bought the No Security leather jacket with "RS 99" plus tongue on the front and "Stones" on the back. It was pretty expensive like $200 or $250 but worth every dollar. I do only use it a few weeks in the fall, when it is perfect for our weather then, not too warm, not too cold. And just wearing it makes me proud - the pro

I simply don't understand why it is so important to compare different artists and their performance. They are all different. Why is it important to be number one in all aspects? And how do you define being number one? I am sure about one thing. If the Stones put a tour up for sale with the ticket prices of U2, then they could sell out any major city in the western world. Any. U2 ask for l

Gillette was not sold out when the Stones played there. If it was all about playing to a maximum of people then they would have played open air shows like in Europe. But the US need seated venues so they do it in venues. And it is hard to seel the "nosebleed" upper 3rd or so levels at Gillette. A baseball venue is great because they can put the stage where there are no chairs. Dodger St

I would appreciate it if people do not accuse others of anything they can not completely document. I say it again and again. If somebody is doing bad trades then tell me. Do not make yourself the judge above evrything and everybody. We do live in a democracy, not in anarchy. And please do not get upset if you make a recording and then the next moment someone is selling it on to others. I bet t

First time it must be when I was sitting on the bus to Gothenburg Sweden one day in late 1973 to attend a Rolling Stones show at the arena Scandinavium. Back then you did not cross countries or even travel to see live music. It was a real die hard bus of die hard Stones fans. Then there has been many times I have realized I am not normal vs. the Stones, like when I have been sitting in a hote
