England only starts playing football after the opposing team scores a goal. Until then, all they do (with the wonderful players they have, so much more is the pity) is trying to keep the other team from scoring. If only England would always play like they did in the second half against Spain, they would have an unbeatable team.

QuoteSighunt ... I always kinda thought after hearing many of the soundboard boots from 72 and from the early Pacific/Australian tour from 73 that the horn section was pretty thin, and on songs, specifically like Bitch, Rocks Off, Happy, All Down the Line, would have been better suited to at least 3-4 consistent horn players to knock off those brass heavy tunes... . I think the way Bobby Keys

Saw the Boss last night at Nijmegen. He knows how to throw a party with this big band of his. Absolute an evening of great fun. A year ago I saw him at Landgraaf. Enough difference in the setlist to keep it interesting. What I could do without is his story about his first band and his passed away friends he misses. The fact that he told literally the same story a year ago and they even proj

QuoteRoughJusticeOnYa Obviously, the hair to split here, is "costs of exploitation"... You're right. There are no specifications in the published reports. One can not rule out the possibility that some of these costs are benificiary to the shareholders of Promogroup or the board of directors...

Promogroup published its annual report 2015 at the Chamber of Commerce in Amsterdam. I checked the account. Apparently the year 2015 was not a very succesful one for Promogroup. In US dollars they made a gross margin of $ 4.4 million, but the costs of exploitation were $ 5.6 million. They would have had a loss of $ 1.2 million, if it weren't for interests and results on stocks and other

It's not a "criminal investigation" as part of a court case. It is only a political investigation to evaluate the Dutch laws. So the question of "guilty or not guilty" is not at stake here.

Well, that did not go all too well. Mr. Favié tried to convince the committee that The Stones and U2 (he represents both bands through Promogroup BV and U2 Limited) chose domicile in Amsterdam for the "expertise and added value" he can offer the bands when it comes to management of copyrights and business administration. According to mr Favië it's a mere coincidence that r

It's just an investigation held by members of parliament who want to investigate tax evasion through the Netherlands. It is possible the outcome of this investigation will lead to new tax laws in The Netherlands, but that will take so long that it's more likely the kids of the Stones will see the effects of that than our beloved band itself.

QuoteBeast Gold rings on Keith for doing it for with sssoul, his number one fan of all time. I am sure she was throwing confetti and popcorn all over the place when she heard him play that! Oooh, man, this image of Sister Sssoul being ~HaPpY~ really brightened my day! Thank you, Beast.

A lot of fans praise Slave, but despise Suck on the jugular. I can not see the reason. In my humble opinion Suck on the jugular is also an interesting jam, based on Charlies groove.

A Dirty Work deluxe would be an enormous challenge! A lot of studio time Mick was not available, working on solo projects. So it would be some sort of Dirty Barbarians kind of issue.

Quotebobo Agree with most of this, but never leave Tumbling Dice out of a setlist. The way it was played in NYC at the club gig was really really great. My worst fear is that we all think they start playing Tumbling Dice, but it appears to be Driving Me Too Hard....

With all respect to Ronnies contributions, I am convinced that the solo on Driving me too hard is from Keith. Or wasn't it suggested that Ron did the solo? The solo reminds me strongly of Slipping Away.

What made The Stones my favorite band, is that they combined so many different styles of music. And exactly that is what makes Hackney Diamonds such a great record!

Would they consider Chanel Haynes as a back up singer if they tour again? It would be a nice gesture after she was fired from the Tina musical because of her appearance with The Stones in Milan.

How about Saint of me as a gospel inspired song? I think Billy Preston (he went to church in Brussels?) is the first one to bring some gospel into the music, as he did on Shine a Light and Saint of me. And isn't Salt of the Earth also an example of the Stones flirting with gospel?

QuoteDandelionPowderman To record enough songs for two albums, like Ronnie said, is NOT the same as having a second album ready. Wrong interpretation And let's be thankful for that. We heard Mick say they wanted the album to be outstanding! From earlier outstanding albums that came with deluxe extras from the vault, I can honestly say, that I liked the songs that made it to the origina

Haha, don't get angry with them. I only think it is the formula that was used on recent videos. Have you watched Ride em on down, Living in the heart of love, Criss Cross? Is there even a need for videos these days, when even old chaps like me listen to Spotify?

It seemed to me it was planned to have 30 minutes of them on stage, but somehow there was not enough chemistry between the band and mr. Fallon to keep it interesting enough. The "Off the hook" singing and the poor impression of Mick showed mr. Fallon was somehow thinking this was HIS moment of glory. It is odd what the presence of The Greatest Rock 'n Roll Band In The World doe

Frankly, I feel there were many turning points in the first 20 years that defined the "new" Stones. From basis Blues and RnR going on with Soul, R&B, Pop, then adopting influences from Dylan/Kinks and flower power. But yes, maybe Beggar's Banquet was the first album where they found their unpolished selves. It was an interesting ride to get there though.
