QuoteRip This bittersweet memories....perhaps one of my most favorite times to live in NYC was 1978....where has the time gone? An interesting remark, Rip This. Would you mind to sketch out what the magic was about?

Bridges to Babylon is probably their last ambitious album - not everything on it is great, yet it was a good time to be a fan when it came out. I really enjoyed the tour in 98 and 99. Keith Richards was on top of his game then. Many grooves on the album still work very well, and Mick Jagger's performance is elegant, as are the beats by Charlie Watts.

These solo clips of Jagger`s are not bad - they are decent pop or rock performances - yet they could be done by any decent pop or rock artist. What makes the Stones so wonderful is their individuality. A group of excellent trained studio musicians cannot replace that factor. I do believe that Mick Jagger could have had a greater career as a solo artist. For some strange reason, although he has be

QuoteMathijs Quotewindmelody This is a strange album. I like Woods solo work. But on some songs of "Live and eclectic", especially "Josephine", RW is that drunk, that he only manages to slur out some words. I do not know why he released that recording. You really must be listening to another release than I am...I find this release fantastic -the playing is fantastic, Wood si

The Stones were in great shape in 1999 - Ronnie Wood had some problems, but the band was on fire. The Shepherds Bush gig got an horrible review in the NME back then. I was young and was very annoyed because of that. I saw the Stones in Stuttgart and Cologne that year,in the heat and in the driving rain. Great memories from that time.

His posts were profound. I never met Mr. Gary Galbraith in person. Yet I admired his way of writing posts, in between warmhearted comments, humour and irony. May he rest in peace.

Quotekeefriffhards Quotewindmelody Bitch could be an example. By the way: I did not doubt that Keith and Ron are great - it is not a shame if they get a little help from their friends. Who's helping Keith on his solos? He nailed every solo on the 26th. Sir, I did not doubt that at all.I wrote that Richards and Wood can focus on the essence of their playing.

Keith Richards and Ron Wood are plying together for half a century, they have a unique sense for blues, rock'n'roll and rough elegance. By now the keyboard section is taking a lot of weight from their shoulders, so they can let the essence of their playing shine. At 80 and 77 this is not a shame - it is a smart solution.

What I particularly like about this is, that the Stones can be watched as working men, colleagues who talk to each other in an ordinary way. In the nineties they started to promote themselves like statesmen: Photos in jets, photos in front of and in limousines. Keith Richards began to express himself mostly through laughter and endless "Hoho, haha, you know...". In these videos one can

Quotematxil QuoteDandelionPowderman Quotewindmelody Quotebakersfield ... It is great if you enjoy Hackney Diamonds, Bakersfield, and you definitely have a point: Many Stones songs depend on the band's performance: Jagger's voice, the weaving of the guitars, the rhythm section. Yet, to my impression, many songs on Hackney Diamonds sound fresh, but very constructed. An example for that
