Can't believe there are people who don't like the live versions, especially the ones from '69. I especially love the version from gimme shelter , a lot more 'in your face' than the studio version. Although I do admit that they should play the studio intro when they do it live. Isn't there a boot of a soundcheck (or possibly rehearsal) from '89 of them doing the

I saw it a while ago. I remember it being thought provoking and kind of trippy if you like those kinds of movies. Definitely not straight forward and not really a science fiction movie at all. It moves at a pretty slow pace and is more about the emotional aspects of the characters rather than any real plot or story breakthroughs.

I always thought this song by my morning jacket sounded like a song off of exile on mainstreet, especially the last part of the song with some MT style licks and the horns come in. Does anybody else hear it?

which song do you like better - stupid girl by the stones or stupid girl by Neil Young. Both are great songs but I'm gonna go with Neil Young's song. one of my all-time favorite outro solos

I actually don't like the studio version of Midnight rambler that much (greatly prefer the live version), but unlike most fans I like country honk much better than honky tonk women.

there has been a lot of talk around here about Mick Taylor joining the Stones on their next tour (if there is one) lets assume theres a tour next year. What are the chances that A) Mick plays on the whole tour, Mick plays a few shows here and there C) Mick only joins for one show for a couple of songs

Great, great song. One of the things I love most about this song and Brown sugar is that they both have the complementary acoustic guitar part behind the main riff. I wish they would do that more often, I think it would have made a lot of the bigger bang songs much better.

Wow those pictures are awesome. The pic from high tides green grass might be my all time favorite stones picture. Although some from the satanic era come close.

That was really really good. Definitely the best performance of the show, although Arcade Fire has been good too.

WOW Mick Taylor is God playing the guitar. his guitar playing on plundered my soul is sublime. Some people seem to be deriding it for being too 'simple'. Why is that even a criticism? sometimes simplicity is best for emotive guitar playing. It really allows the listener to focus on his beautiful tone and vibrato. And always he does a fantastic job answering jaggers vocal lines.

They could have done it on the 71 UK tour for example when they played the marquee. replace the string parts with keith and have Taylor do a gorgeous, subtle and tasteful solo on an extended outro. Mick maybe can't sing it now or couldnt ten years ago, but maybe back then.

What do you think of Moonlight Mile live? It's too bad they didn't play it back closer to when it come out in 1971 with Mick Taylor. It's also a really hard song for Mick to sing.

Heres a hypothetical question that I've been wondering about On the next tour what songs/ if any will the stones play from A bigger bang? What songs do you think they should play from ABB that they have played before or should they try out some new ones? Also, is there any chance in hell they would play plundered my soul or any of the other outtakes?

Does anybody still listen to ABB? I haven't put it on in at least six months. It sort of just faded into obscurity for me. However, on a non-related note, I am listening to Dead Flowers right now and its FANTASTIC.

I wish the stones would do one of the following: A) a 'theme' show from one of their time periods. They could have like a 60's show where they only play songs from the sixties. Or a modern show where they only play songs post 1981. completely play some of their albums in the middle or to begin or end the show. They could easily pull off sticky fingers or let it bleed. Hell, eve

f*** the stones. They're greedy bastards. There is absolutely no sane or reasonable argument anyone could make that they need more money or they have a right to do private shows or charge ridiculous ticket prices because we live in a capatilist society or god forbid, they have the "obligation" to do it. That's bullshit. Also, for everyone who says Rock and Roll is just abo

In terms of the musical aspect, I love the diversity the stones have on two levels. I usually look at four different eras of the stones, brian jones era (62-66), pyschadelic era (66-67), classic era (68-73) and Ronnie wood era (74-present) and can appreciate each era for its own attributes even though they might be completely different from another era. For example: I LOVE listening to Mick Taylo
