The Raliegh shows is not that far a drive for me, but I'm not going. Mrs Frankie tried to talk me into it, but I won't do it. No MT - no show for me. I have no inside information, but it seems that MJ has no interest in musical excellence. It could easily be accomplished by adding MT. He does not have to dominate every song like 72-73. It pains me to see Lady Goo Goo or Haysta

Mike, In addition to the R&R HOF and the NFL HOF, you may want to go to Unviersity Circle. You can Google it to see if anything there appeals to you. It's right down Euclid Ave. If you stay downtown, you may want to go to the Terminal Tower obeservation deck. For about 30+ years it was the tallest building in the world (outside of NYC).

QuoteMore Hot Rocks QuoteZantiMisfit I predict the final tally in the U.S. will be around $25 million. In the U.S., films make most of their box office numbers the first weekend, then drop off dramatically. I went late Saturday afternoon to see it. I don't think there were more than 25 people in the movie theater. A shame. There were only about 25 in the theater here too. 1:15pm on Sund

QuoteDGA35 Bill wasn't missing on Around and Around. It's just that the camera didn't pan to the far left to film him. If true, then Mick Jagger cut him out of "Get On Up".

The movie was good. On a 1-10, I'd give it a 7. It's worth seeing. 138 minutes that go by fast. Minor spoiler alert: The music and acting are top-notch. Chadwick Boseman is great as James Brown. Much of the latter part of his life is skimmed over (i.e. no third wife). A couple of the flashbacks are difficult to keep up with (i.e. when his mother visits him as a sucess, I'm no

I saw "Get On Up" today. During the TAMI Show scene, there were only 4 Rolling Stones watching James Brown. At first I thought, did Mick reeally cut Bill out of this?!!! The announcer says "...The Five Rolling Stones...". Then in the short clip there are only four. Well.......Bill WAS actaully missing from Around & Around. Where on earth was he? Was he late? He was the

For me the studio versio of Bitch is #1. No question. When it first came out I thought it was MT for a second. I read somewhere where Keith said he used to practice it every day. Its really very fluid at many points. Live is Bye Bye Johnnie- many choices from 1972. He does Chuck Berry better than anyone.

Funny timing. I just won a portable turn-table. I have not had a turn-table to play my records in over 20 years. I got out the old 45s and the first song I played was Through the Lonely Nights.

Quotewith sssoul I never heard about her miscarriage before - that's tragic. Speechless-making. As for the "never heard of the Stones" part, it does seem like something's gotten garbled in the re-telling, along the lines of "she didn't know their individual names or recognize their faces". quote] Great detective work! Quotealimente Quotesonomastone QuoteThe Joker Still, I don't think money is the issue number one in that region of billing. Musical uncertainty is much at stake. Jagger has everything in control with the band as it is. Can we say fairly he is a control freak, for all the good of the music? When MT is on stage, it is quite different. Mick seems pretty excited, but also unease. MT is the

QuoteJMARKO QuoteShawn20 The number one question following this tour will be - why the limited use of Mick Taylor? And enough of the garbage that's he no longer a member. Neither are Lisa or Bernard but they're on every song. Lisa and Bernard, and Chuck actually, have been in the band 24 years - Chuck actually 33 years. Taylor was in the band for just over four. What I don

"...Dragging his ass all over the Country". I didn't know they kid-napped him and forced him to do it! anyway, I agree. MT can play on much more. He does not have to be fetured on evrythng he plays on. He proved that on Satisfaction, especially in Toronto. He does a lot of little things, w/o a solo. I have not given up hope. Remember it wasn't log ago that many people h

Keith on "Goin Down" was actually quite sad, IMHO. That was not a good position to put him in. His skill as a solo player are greatly diminished. That's just a fact. Keith still has some very good moments though. listen near then end of Satisfaction in Toronto. Actaully, much of that is better than usual. If you want to watch Keith shine on Goin Down, here it is:

There's a lot to choose from "live" 75,76,78. Especially 75 when songs were structured more to highligt him. 89+ MJ and Keith diminshed his role. Ronnie is a great player, just differnt than MT.

I dont live anywhere close to any of the shows. DC is the closest. If it was the "three guitar attack", I'd pay $1,200 for two tickets, pay for the flight and hotel and be very happy to do so. I might do it for a few shows. For this, I can't. I tried talking myself in to it, but I can't. I am really baffled my MT on only one song or maybe two if you count strumming on

Keith always does the solo on Bitch (even in 72), just like he did in the studio. I don't care either way about Grohl. He said a stupid thing about Keith in that documentary. If you want to haev him guset for one song, no big deal. The big deal is MT hanging around doing nothing. He steps up, makes MR the highlight of the show. Hangs around for a while more and maybe comes out to play a f
