QuoteHairball Quotebarbabang Hairball : You say most complaints about ABB are that it is too long. How do you know that? Or is this your opinion? In my opinion it is a weak album because of the quality of the songs and another reason why I don't play this cd notvery often is the bad sound quality in this recording. Seems to be the general consensus based on reading discussions, and I

The change of season also means more listening to great music for me. More than in the hot summer. Listening to Little Barrie - Stand Your Ground cd. Lovely packeging too. Digipack with gold letters on it. And a 'gold look'cd too. Bought it this weekend.

Have not heard the release so far, but if the sound lacks I think it is for the most part the mastering choices or the lack there off.

Quotenick The Yaya's and Charlie deluxe boxes were not bad. What happened with TSMR and BB? On a positive note, you appreciate your 2002 SACD and Mono box titles a lot more. Regarding The GRRR box set with the IBC Demos as extra, (which are better on some boots I think) those recorings are not part of ABCKO and the BBC recordings are part of the BBC (at least some part I think) and may

This is another great version with Mick Taylor, this one has a solo which is totally freedom and it works in the song. Magical version for me. Really great to hear this.

Time for getting the rights back in one way or another, maybe in co-operation with Universal, or another record company or by themselves. This is a dead end street with these ABCKO releases I think. In a buy out everybody wins.

If it is only the album as is, than this is the worst anniversary reissue of the century to me. A phonecall from japan as a bonus? I will listen to youtube for this phonecall. Pointless and ridicilous release I you ask me, for one of their best albums ever.

QuoteSpud I too remain an analogue man in an increasingly digital world . That said, digital today is much improved and, just maybe, now good enough . The problem was that digital was foisted on us as the medium for recording and listening to music long before it was good enough. That's why we endured CD and all those horrible early digital transfers to vinyl in the 80s . Now

QuoteTheGreek Quotekeefriff99 I think Love Is Strong really only works if the vocals have the sinister, deep bite of the studio version, and Mick isn't going to dig that deeply for that particular song. That's why it mostly comes off half-assed. Good point Agreed. It COULD work. But only if Mick gives it 100 procent with conviction, with the studio approach vocals. Would

Favorite music video. Top of their game in 1978 there. Even if I favour 1969. But the video/audio quality is better here.

Quoteretired_dog QuoteRocky Dijon Yeah, I am curious what happened to it. I wondered if we would have heard things like "Thief in the Night" with Mick on lead vocals or "You Don't Have To Mean It" done Tex-Mex style. The problem of course is anyone who works with them describes these lost tracks as "amazing." It's hard to know what is just being star-struck
