I think it is primordial to have one's own opinion about the Stones' music but I do enjoy reading or listening to well tought criticism of their works that contradicts my views. If the criticism is not just stupid agression I listen/read by curiosity. Eventually good criticism could slightly affect my views.

Rock and roll dead yet? I don't think so. I live in the USA and the bars, the clubs, the venus are still showing rock bands multiple times a week all over the country. The way one feels about "the end of rock" tells me more about the person state of mind that it tells me about rock and roll's heartbeat. If you want to believe that rock is dying go head; I don't. As

I like The Band. It was about the music like with the Rolling Stones; I believe it. These bands have a similar history but have different personas. When I put them together, it covers the whole emotional and musical spectrum of the music I love.

The most amazing thing about SFM is that Keith got the beat of the "Pinpon-pinpon" from the police cars in France. Keith, a real artist/alchemist,turns ugly into beauty; what a genius!!!

I like your list Gaslightstreet. I am a Ronnie's fan too. I would add "Black Limousine" from Tattoo You. A little masterpiece by Woody; his credits are all over it and the rest of the Stones do an amazing job on it.

I love Ricky Nelson's music. Like the Everly Brothers it may be an acquired taste but once one gets it, it tastes pretty good. The voice, the songs, the musicianship all of it is there in quality. In 1972 Ricky Nelson played the MSG and he covered the Stones Honky Tonk Woman. He got booed by his fans for doing so. Like Keith would say, he got a song out of it; "Garden Party". A

Rupert says that Keith is smarter than Mick. Ok, we can assume he knows after working for and with them for 40 years but the proof that Rupert brings up to justify his choice is kind of ridiculous; Keith owned and brought with him to Nellcote a classical record (Mozart I believe). That an insulte to Mick and to the readers too. @#$%& you fat @#$%&! Rock and roll, Mops

My first bootleg was a 45 with an accoustic version of All Down The Line. Maybe the speed was not right on that recording because Mick's voice was very "nasal" The B side was a song about Andrew Loog Oldham; a funny song that a one point said "@#$%& Andrew". Hilarious. I lost the small disk unfornutately.

Quotecaschimann I met Peter Wolf in Hamburg in 1984 doing an interview with him when he was promoting his first solo album Lights Out. Being a 120% Stones Fan I was also open to any music. Especially the work of the frontman of Stones 81/82 US/Europe Tour Opener J.Geils Band. But of course we startet to talk about the Stones, his dedication to Mick etc. Then he made a stop and went like: "

I remember the rock radio stations playing commercials for the tour that advertised the Stones were going to play songs they rarely played; it sounded like it was a tour for "us"; smaller venues and rarely played songs.Good concept for fanatics(lol)!

I like the shows I went to: DC and NYC #3. At the MSG they played "Might As Well Get Juiced", "Little Queenie" and "just want to make love to you". That was a nice surprise. Arena tours are great especially at places like MSG. The Stones in 1999 were in their mid 50's still physically strong and asskicking and looking super cool. The movie intro was very dramat

What is strange in that story is Harvey Mandel labeling Ronnie as an average player after everything Wood has achieved in his long career. I know Mandel has the right to his own opinion but the stuff Mandel did on B&B is not transcendent either.
