Just got done reading and article in Entertainment Weekly on Johnny Depp. He raves about Keith's unreleased album. As the story goes: Keith recorded a full album titled: "Unknown Dreams" in 1978. This was right after his heroin bust in Canada. Richards was facing a potential "Life Sentence" for heroin possession. Has any one on this list heard the album or better yet has

Great Show last night in Minneapolis! A small but raucous crowd of about 70 fans came to see Bernard Fowler perform at Lee's Liquor Lounge. I got there early for the soundcheck. After the band set-up and cruised thru several songs. Bernard came to the bar and mingled with a few of us lucky fans. The band was very tight and high energy. Bernard was in great voice throughout. I was able to

Are we talking Bloomington Minnesota from June 18, 1972? Or Bloomington - Indianapois on July 26th from TOTA 1975? I would love to get a copy of the "Famous Teargas Show" from Bloomington Minnesota. There were about 6,000 fans outside the Met Center "rioting" and trying to crash the gates to get in the Arena. The local Police decided to use teargas to disperse the crowd. The e

Over the years most all Sony Minidisc recorders would record in manual record mode. The standard MD recorder had to be paused to adjust the levels up or down after the unit was put in the manual record mode. Major Bummer! When Sony released HI-MD in 2005 they made a host of improvements. The MZ-RH10 featured on the fly record level adjustments (after put in the manual record mode). It also fe

The Blues Brothers opened in Chicago - Soldier Field - Sept. 10, 2005 It was Dan Ackroyd and Jim Belushi. Not sure who was in the band; but it was NOT the "studio Cats" from the Blues Brothers movie. They played about a half hour then the Los Lonely Boys came on. I think it was a one off gig opening for the Stones; being it was Chicago. The Blues Brothers then played the House of Blues

When you are in a noisy crowd: cardioid mikes are the way to go. Binaurals pickup 360 degrees of sound. So the guy "screaming" 2 rows behind you will ruin your recording. So will someone coughing. Bass rolloff is adjustable from (none) 0hz, 69hz, 107hz, 160hz, 195hz. The amount of bass rolloff is up to the recorder: taking into account the venue and the band. To each his own. Don

You need SONY'S Sonic Stage version 3.4 or later. This is shipped with the new SONY MZ-RH1 HI-MD field recorder. Yuo can also download a copy of 3.4 or later from SONY's website. This allows unlimited uploading and no copy restrictions. If you record HI-MD to CD you can also upload a recording to Sonic Stage and then do post production editting. Don drake wrote: I'm searchin

For high quality recordings you need a SONY MZ-RH1 or MZ-RH10 HI-MD minidisc field recorder. You also need a high quality set of stereo cardioid microphones and a bass rolloff battery box. DAT has been replaced by HI-MD as the preferred recording gear today. The DAT recorders are too bulky (and have large amouts of metal content) to get into most venues with strict security and metal detectors
