Many great insights from this film. One major takeaway for me is just what a class act Marlon Richards seems to be. We don't seem to mention that often here.

It is kind of a subjective question. To me 'Just wanna see his face' sounds spooky. Especially with 'Ventilator' right before. Also 'I don't Know Why; bc of it's connotations. 'The Lantern' is not quite dark, more dusk. Good topic.

I listened to the songs from several shows, and am now actually glad I had seats with pretty lousy audio. Bc the band I experienced was very raw - I cou;ldn't see Bernard or Chanel for a while, and thought they were not even there. Heard only Mick, Chuck and Keith on vocals; LOTS of guitar and Bass. And they came out winners.

saw the Stones last night. The seats were by far the furthest away I have ever been at a Stones show. So I'm not sure if everyone heard the entire set as bass heavy as we did. The Stones were awesome. Very lean, and mean. IMO "Angry" may have been the best song of the night. very raw, toms and Bass. The harmonies are different in bridge. Jagger is seems very professional, pacing

'Residue' might be the best of the three. It's frustrating to hear the 3 Boxes bc the official album should have been tough. IMO YGMR is kind of a silly song, until you hear the early raw takes on it.

Quotematxil A very cliché of a song, the Stones second-guessing themselves. Either they wrote it in their sleep or they picked up an average guy from the street and told him: "write a typical Stones song". Yes, Keith has done some great things with the I-IV progression, but it always a required a bit more than this. The lyrics seemed to be written by ChatGPT before it even existed, by

Very saddened by this news. Loved Gazza. He is one of the very first personalities I met in the early days of the Net and Stones community. When all of the sudden all the Stonesfreaks from all over the globe started getting in touch. I had been going on about Taylor's great Les Paul sound in the solo of "Dance Little Sister"; when this Gazza guy tells me "Uh, pretty sure tha

QuoteDandelionPowderman The drums sound even worse on some tracks, imo. I don't know if 'worse' is the word I would use. Maybe that drum sound did not fit the Stones. Moroder's snare was probably not the right call for Charlie's style, and for 'If u cant rock me'. I love the album, but it comes off with some contradictions. "Fingerprint File', the s

Quotematxil The Stones have made a number of sappy, kitchy songs. Why one likes some of them and doesn't like others is hard to explain. I very much like Indian Girl and Sister Morphine and kind of like Fool To Cry and Sweethearts Together. I dislike Blinded by Love or Blinded by Rainbows or Out Of Tears. And I neither like nor dislike Streets of Love, although I can understand some peo

The 1st solo album was promising. But, like many other great players, he showed himself as not much of a writer. Some of his best, most lyrical playing is with Carla Olsen.

QuoteFeelslikeaGhost QuoteGasLightStreet QuoteFeelslikeaGhost Listening to the new live tracks, great stuff. Is there any particular reason why they are playing Angry half a step down? The original track is in the key of B but this version is in Bb. even Ronnie's setlist has it labeled as B. The tuning doesn't reflect the key - a B is still played as a B, even if their tuned to B fla

How did they get that sound is a mistery for me. But it sounds glory. That's interesting. I love the IORR album, but IMo the outtakes and roughs sound better than final release. Interesting how Keith plays the chords to 'Angry' different from Mick. Doesn't bother with the sus notes. Kind of hope they keep the stripped down line-up. Never thought much about Clifford either way, but he's good on the piano slot. More subtle.
