QuoteJavadave More like Rest In Cheese. That dude mostly played a way to crassly commercial and "smooth" style of Jazz for my tastes. I'm sure he was a great dude, but honestly, I am much more moved by the passing of B-Movie legendary director/producer Roger Corman than I am of David Sanborn. Cheese? Wow, I think you might be confusing him with some other alto sax smoothies

QuoteRisingStone QuoteDGee First album I ever stole. Can you please list all the records you have stolen? That was it. Truly. I refer to it as the first album I ever "stole" in response to an oft-quoted question (and regular feature in Mojo or Uncut, I believe), "what's the first album (or record) you ever bought?" Can't remember that one, but I can remember

First album I ever stole. From Barry's Records Tapes, on E. 23rd Street, NYC. The Polydor import from the UK, with the naked girl on the cover, holding the airplane (the US version just had a photo of the band on the cover). Taught myself the riff from "Had to Cry Today" on my first electric guitar. Blissful memories. Thanks!

I honestly don't remember Pret-a-Porter very much. I saw it in the theatre when it first came out, chiefly for the Stones track. As I remember, it was all about the world of high fashion and super models and, consequently, the Stones' music fit like a hand in a glove. Viewing wiki today, the film (released in the US as, "Ready To Wear") looks a little dated. But who knows,

"Jump On Top of Me," in the film, "Pret-a-Porter." So deep it couldn't even be called a "cut;" it never even made it onto "Voodoo Lounge." So deep it was the B-side of that album's second single, "You Got Me Rocking."

I agree, no live version ever matched the chugging, gritty, funky, galloping roll of the studio version. It always seemed too fast in live versions. However sped up it might still be, my favorite live version is when it was the show opener (around '72 or '73). The Robert Frank film (C'sucker Blues) captures that. The best audio version of that is on a bootleg from (what I was to

Still liking the odds on this one. Last SNL season finale was April 15, 2023. Not sure when the SNL season finale will be next spring. But Stones open their 2024 North American tour on April 28, 2024. They probably don't "need" to sell tickets, but an SNL spot within a week or two of a North American tour certainly doesn't hurt. Let it (30) Rock!

Hats off to Bjornulf and the greatest fan website ever. This posting is in-part wild prediction, and in-part a passionate plea for action! Wondering if the IORR universe can literally will this into being... Just for the sake of speculation, let me say up front that I am a "nobody special," simply a New York city native who is a huge fan of TGRnRBITW, and have been all my life
